Text: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
This verse is the start point where God formed the universe and history of humanity. Creation marks the absolute beginning of the temporal and material world. The word beginning arrives from the Hebrew word for bereshit, which it means firstfruits, first, or chief.
It is interested that God didn’t have beginning point. There is no biblical reference that explains where God arrived from. Throughout the Bible, we see that God has been working with people. We see that how God created the world within six days (Genesis 1). There is no evidence in the Hebrew text for long ages of evolutionary development or a gap of time between the first two verses in Genesis 1.
Who is God? There are some people have misunderstood who God is. Some people have intrepreted that there are two gods in the Bible because of the Old and New Testaments. However, the Scriptures said clear there is the only one God. You can look it up in Colossians 1:15-18, John 1:1-3, and 1 Timothy 1:5. Like our earthly fathers, He disciplines us when we’d do wrong and correct us. He wants to take care and loves us. We will see how God created us in the later of this chapter.
