Making Wrong Choice
Topic: Living Life

And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite: Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah. (Genesis 26:34-35 KJV)

Living a life is all about making some choices for our own life. We all have to make decision to continue to live our lives. Even though we are made from the image of God, it doesn’t mean that He has to choose which way we should live a life. But God gave us the freewill to make some decisions for our own life.

In Genesis 1:26-30, we read that God created the man and gave him the dominion over the earth to make fruit (or character), multiply and replenish the earth, and subdue it. Even God gave assign Adam to name all the animals in the earth. This means that Adam has to make a decision to make names of each animal. Also, since God instituted the marriage between Adam and Eve, they had to make decision what kind of life that they should live for as unity. Of course, their marriage life became disaster after they decided to obey the command of serpent rather than God.

What kind of decision we’d to make for our lives? We see that many families have been broken from the unity; and decide to go their own way. Look at Esau and see how he made his parents’ hearts broken. He didn’t listen to his parents and got a wife for himself from the Hittite. Matthew Henry wrote in his Commentary of the Whole Bible, “It grieved them that he married without asking, or at least without taking, their advice and consent: see whose steps those children tread in who either contemn or contradict their parents in disposing of themselves.” We see the same mistake that Esau made in our generation.

Of course, marriage is considered as honorable act in all (Hebrews 12:4), but we changed the law of marriage that constricts from the words of God. We hear that some states of our country have been voted the gay marriage as constitutional. Or we hear that some public schools decide to wipe off the grade system.

This is not only the battle of liberty, but it’s also spiritual battle. Our country is like two sides of coin. We have Christian side and Pagan side in one nation. Even though ACLU is trying to help our country back to Christian nation, they also help to put the homosexual laws back to America. Jesus says in Luke 16:13, “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other…”

There is a bottom line in battle, so is with making a decision for ourselves. Even though there are many churches across the America, it doesn’t mean that every church leaders and members have decided to follow Jesus Christ all the way. We all have made wrong choices that don’t please God in our lifetimes. But this doesn’t mean we’d stay there either. We’d need to stand backup and be transformed by the renewing of our minds (see Romans 12:2).

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
