"Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, and saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
"Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." (Matthew 4:5-7 KJV)
Since Satan failed the first tempt Jesus to sin, he tried to use Psalms 91:11-12, which it says, "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone." Does Jesus need protection from the heaven with all His problems? No! That's a strike two. If it is, then our faith in Him would be useless. 1 Peter 5:7 said that we need to cast all our care upon Him, because He cares about us. He knows we are not perfect with Him. He is the only bridge between God and men. When Satan said that to Jesus, He quoted the Scripture to fight him back, "Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." (Matthew 4:7.) Yes, the Bible says that we can test God's words, but not as gaining His power or political power. Satan wants God's power since the beginning of the world. I like to go this subject deeper on the last temptation of Jesus.
This is so important for us to study and meditate the Holy Words of God. Not only for a weapon against Satan, but we also need to correct ourselves. Paul said in 2 Timothy 3:16-17, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." We need to be guard to our minds from negativities. The devil cannot attack our minds unless we let him. Don't just point to the devil for our mistakes, which is easily for us to do. We need to exercise our minds and hearts with the Words of God.
