Ten Commandments: Honor Thy Parents
Topic: Laws of God

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. (Exodus 20:12 KJV)

Now, we have come to the second set of the Ten Commandments, which is our relationship with each other. As we see, the Ten Commandments were not made for our religious practice, but establishing relationship with God and people. In other words, God didn’t start to create religions and try to make many roads to Heaven. Oprah Winfrey, Barak Obama, and Joel Osteen created proclaimed that there are several ways to Heaven, but my Bible says that there is the one way to have eternal life, which is through Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 11:25, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live…” Allah, Buddha, Virgin Mary, or any wooden images of gods don’t guarantee us to have eternal life, except Jesus Christ.

God established for us to have family. We read how God constituted for Adam to have family in Genesis 2:24. Begin in Genes 4, we read about the first family and how this family turned into tragedy situation. It is not clear stated why Cain killed his young brother and how his relationship with Adam and Eve was. But he complained lot. He said to God, “I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?”

How is your relationship with family? Even though Exodus 20:12 dedicates to honoring parents, it is also related to whole family. We cannot live in this world without establishing relationship with our family.

Paul said in Ephesians 6:1-3, “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.” We need guidance from our parents for us to live life. Respecting and obeying our parents is the key to have successful life. Even God shorten our earthly time, we would need to continue to build relationship with God, family, and people around us.

Ten Commandments: Sabbath Day (Part II)
Topic: Laws of God

And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. (Matthew 12:10-12 KJV)

As the days of Pharisees, we sometime mixed up God’s laws with our moral laws. Even though God said that we’d need to be rested on the seventh day, we’d decide to work more hours and make busy to ourselves. Don’t be misunderstood that some of the services need to be available 24/7, such as hospital, grocery stores, gas stations, fire departments, and etc. And some stores could close on the seventh day, such as Wal-mart, restaurants, and etc. Unfortunately, our nation becomes money-maker nation, we may forget how we’d need to rest and refresh our spirits, souls, and bodies.

We often see many people go to the yoga session, Eastern Mysticism religious practice, to try to regenerate their bodies. Without thinking what they are doing, this practice teaches them to reinforce the energy upon themselves. No God. If your church would have yoga session, then your spirit would be risked your relation with God. Yes, there should be relaxing exercise activities for our spirits, souls, and bodies, but it should have limited. We should really need to focus on God and His words. Why not turn on praise and worship music for us to do exercise. Read and meditate on God’s Words. Work for God and not just for our needs.

We have limited ourselves to worn our bodies. Do you know why Pharisees saw surprise that Jesus was working on Sabbath Day (Matthew 12:2)? They worried that He’d be breaking their laws. Sabbatical law didn’t come from any man. God created the sabbatical law for us to have quality time with Him and people around us. Jesus didn’t break the sabbatical law, but He fulfilled it.

The Ten Commandments are not religious laws, but to build our relationship with God and people. This is why Jesus said that we need to love God and other people. It sums up all the laws in the Bible.

Ten Commandments: Sabbath Day (Part I)
Topic: Laws of God

Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. (Exodus 20:8-11 KJV)

I believe the most law that Americans are neglecting today is the Sabbath Day, the day we’d need to give honor to God by resting upon Him. This day of the week should be designated for us to have quality with Him rather than busy ourselves to death. No wonder most of us have some kinds of sicknesses in our bodies. Jesus said in Matthew 6:34, “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Being worrying would bring us to problem in physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

God created Sabbath Day for us to rest upon Him. He didn’t create us to be His slaves. No! He wants to establish imitate relationship with each of us. We are His and are not belonged to the world. There are many people who think that living in this world is the only hope for them to have long and happy life. Yes, that was true before Adam and Eve felt into sins. Unfortunately, that’s not in case for now until God would restore this world to original estate.

We are living in today’s society without having at least one full day to rest ourselves from our busy schedules. It’s not good health habit. We are the temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:16) and we need to take care our bodies. I’m not going into piercing or tattooing our body theologies today.

We need to understand that our bodies have limit to live in this world. God doesn’t want to see that our bodies would be wasted. After this earthly life, our physical bodies would return to sand, but our spiritual bodies would end up either in Heaven or Hell forever.

Are you resting upon Lord Jesus Christ? Sabbath is not just on Saturday or Sunday. It can be any on any day of the week. But we need to have some quality times with him every day.

God planned to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to us to pay our sins, so we can have free access to God and develop personal relationship with Him. Would you like to have personal relationship with God? If you’d like to know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I’d like to encourage you to do two simple things. First, confess your sins and invite Jesus Christ to your life. Paul said in Romans 10:9-11, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” There is no sinner prayer formula. Instead, you just talk to God at where you are now. Secondly, I’d like to encourage you to find a good solid biblical teaching church and Christian friends. They can help you to build strong relationship with God. If you’d need further assistance, you can email me at mgjcwebminstries@mgjcweb.org or visit my ministries website at www.mgjcweb.org for further resources.

Ten Commandments: Honoring God (Pt. 4)
Topic: Laws of God

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. (Exodus 20:7 KJV)

How many of us use God’s name as curse word or excuse word? If you haven’t use His name as curse word, then you may try to hide yourself from God and people who you love. Of course, we are all guilty to use God’s name in vain. There is no one who haven’t use His name in wrong term.

Nowadays, we see some pastors use God’s name in wrong way. God doesn’t excuse anyone, especially church leaders, to use His name as blasphemy. We are representatives for God and not for the world. I know there are many people use God’s name as curse. In fact, there are books and movies contain blasphemy, such as Henry Potter, Chronicle of Narnia, Speed, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Jurassic Park, and many more.

If we’d think we are not hurting anyone to use God’s name in vain, we are actually hurting God. It’s easy to misuse God’s name if we are not think carefully before we’d spill out of our mouths. We also would need to honor God by not using His name in vain or as blasphemy.

Ten Commandments: Honoring God (Pt. 3)
Topic: Laws of God

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (Exodus 20:4-6 KJV)

Many world religions have created themselves images of their gods. Hinduism, for example, has many gods that are made from the humans’ hands. Since God commanded us not to make any grave images, there has been ignorance and turn ourselves away from God. Even though many Americans believe that we don’t have any wooden idols, we display many historical person and event statues in our communities as monuments. For example, our national capitol has many statues that symbolize where we came from. But these statues also represent something else that are related to who we associate with.

We have become too friendly with other religions; we turned this nation to religious society. The Ten Commandments are no longer appeared in our Supreme Court or any other court system. Every state capitol has some statues that represent historical persons, events, and places, but not about God and Judeo-Christianity. People have destroyed the second commandments that we could make movies about Jesus that come from their imagination. They can make someone to play as Jesus from their own culture, not from His own culture. Jesus, who has color of black skin, white, brown, or anything that represent their culture or nationality.

Even though Jesus came to the earth for everybody in the world, He died and resurrected for those who believe in Him and accept His free gift of salvation. But we just cannot make the second commandment as exception for us to create the person of Jesus. If the person who likes to create movie about Jesus’ life, ministry, death, and resurrection, he’d need to dig into the Scriptures and places.

God is a jealous God. We cannot duplicate Him. Israelites tried to make duplicate of Him when they were waiting from Moses at Mount Sinai, but they created themselves god and worshipped their own creation (Exodus 32). It is too bad enough for us to limit our quality times with God. But when we’d love other things than God, we are creating images of idols in our minds. I John 2:15-17 says, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”

Ten Commandments: Honoring God (Pt. 2)
Topic: Laws of God

Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Exodus 20:3 KJV)

Many of us may have broken the first commandment that God gave it to Moses. I am guilty of it. Even though we may not have the idol image in our homes, we may put other things before God, such as entertainment, work, family, and friends. It is easy to make ourselves busy with these; yet, we may forget put God first in our lives.

If you’d evaluate your daily living activities, where would God fit in your schedule? Most Americans said that they believe in God, God is not in the part of their lives. I recently read an article on how atheists advocated to remove the Ten Commandments from the monument. We, Christians, need to step up and speak the truth of God. It’s just not enough for us to attend Sunday church services to energize ourselves for the week. Currently, we open the door for the homosexual could have the same sex marriage or marriage with animals. We can see these on the TV.

Once the churches would approve to join with the other religious affiliations, we are putting God in a box and doing our own things. Now, we see that Roman Catholicism is the part of Christianity. We see that the most evangelists, such as Dr. Jack Van Impe, use the Catholic doctrines to backup the biblical and current events. If you’d study the Roman Catholicism, it was originated from the pagan religion and saw how the Pope tried to emerge with the Christianity through celebration of Easter Sunday, Christmas, and Halloween. So, we currently see how some churches are trying to make friend with Islam and called themselves as Chrislam.

God is a jealous God (Exodus 20:5) and we should not have other gods before Him. Jesus said in Luke 16:13, “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” The word “mammon” represents the worldly possessions or treasure. We cannot have in both ways. Either we put God first in our lives or the worldly possession. Joshua 24:15 clearly says, “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Many churches are trying to lighten the message of God to make everybody worship God in any way they want. They don’t want to respect God. They can bring their laptop or i-pod during the service to do their work. I see this actually happened in the one of churches in my area. It’s sad enough for us to see that pastors use the e-Bible at the pulpit to preach the Gospel rather than using the actual Bible.

We’d need to be reunited with God if we want this nation as it was. We don’t need to make any more denominational churches to worship God. Nope. Instead, we’d need to be oneness with each other to worship Him.

Choose whom you want to worship.

Do you want transform your life to spend eternality with Jesus Christ? God planned to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to us to pay our sins, so we can have free access to God and develop personal relationship with Him. Would you like to have personal relationship with God? Ten Commandments: Honoring God (Pt. 1)
Topic: Laws of God
And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. (Exodus: 20:1-7 KJV)

I believed that America is so corrupted by sins that the nation has lost to stay in touch with God. Our Supreme Court threw away the Ten Commandments and replaced with our immoral laws. We need to go back to the basics to restore what this nation has lost over the decades. I hate to mention that our nation is waiting for the wrath of God.

As we read the first three commandments in Exodus 20, we are to honor God. We shall have no other gods before Him. This first commandment is critical for us to follow and is connected with other two commandments. Unfortunately, we rejected the first commandment that God gave to Moses. Nowadays, we may worship our material possession and entertain to ourselves. We become slaves to this world that we would think we are gods. That’s what TBN teaching.

We are not gods of this world. We were made from the image of God (Genesis 1:26). People tried to be like gods, but they failed miserably (Genesis 11). This is why God confused the language throughout the world. There is no scientific explanation for this. We see the picture of unfinished Babylonian tower on the back of the U.S. $1 bill, which it indicated that our nation is connected to the pagan religion.

We are to honor God. We cannot bring our nation back to God until we would start to call upon God (Jeremiah 33:3). Since Jesus died for our sins, we are to carry His cross daily and reach other people by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We need to restore the laws of God into our Supreme Court.

Do you want transform your life to spend eternality with Jesus Christ? God planned to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to us to pay our sins, so we can have free access to God and develop personal relationship with Him. Would you like to have personal relationship with God? Take Jericho Wall Down
Topic: Discipline

Now Jericho was straitly shut up because of the children of Israel: none went out, and none came in. And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour. And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days. And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams’ horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him. (Joshua 6:1-5 KJV)

In Joshua 6, we have a great historic event on how the people of Israel conquered the land of Jericho and possessed it. It was not them who possessed the land, but God. David said in I Samuel 17:46, “…the battle is the LORD’S…” So how does Joshua 6 could apply to our daily living?

We do have the wall of Jericho in our lives and need to take it down. It’s just not enough to pray a sinner prayer to conquer our sins and be reunited with Jesus Christ. By the way, when you’d repeat a sinner prayer through somebody’s words, it would not be a sincere prayer to God. We’d have to use our own words to repent our sins to Him and invite Him to our own life. There is no sinner prayer formula. It’s just between you and God.

The wall I’m talking is about our wills or our lusts that block away from having a personal relationship with God. We have been defeated by the ways of world that our nation turns itself to pagan nation. We need to break our walls down, so God could reunite with us and govern this nation. We need to break our walls down, so that parents can unite with their children and live together. We need to break our walls down to avoid God’s judgment. I don’t believe that terrorists didn’t decide to attack us on September 11th, 2001. It was a wakeup call from God. We had been astray from God that we lost to stay in connect with God. In other words, we putted Him in a box.

God doesn’t need to lock Himself in the box. Instead, we need to break our walls down and sit on His knees as little children. That’s it. We don’t need to make this complication as the sinner prayer formula. That is what Roman Catholic Church doing, such as the Rosary Prayer or the Lord’s Prayer. Pray a repetitive prayer doesn’t guarantee us to enter the Heaven. Only by establishing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ guarantee us to get the eternal assurance to be with Him.

Where was Your Beginning?
Topic: Living Life

Where was Your Beginning?

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5 KJV)

I’d like to bring up with the beginning of our lives. We all have beginning points to our life journey. In Genesis 1, we read how this world began and how we were formed. Unfortunately, there are some scientists believe that we were formed from apes (evolution theory). Or they believe that the universal began by big explosion or Big Bang Theory.

We all have beginnings. Even though we came from our mothers’ wombs, God formed us before the mothers would conceive their children. Before we were born, God has planned for our future. We might not hear from the pulpit about God’s plans for our future, because it’s all about our own wills. Hebrews 11:40 says, “God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.”

Because we all have sinned against God (Romans 3:23), we have forgotten our first love with God. Nowadays, we see many unborn children are dying every minute because we have run away from God and decided what we want to do. Since we let open the door for the other religion systems would enter into our homeland, we began to spend more time with the other gods. Even though we don’t have any wooden image of idols, we worship our material possessions. It is sad that we let the parents do the abortion process to murder their own babies. We do not have the right to kill any unborn child in any circumstance. President or judge doesn’t have the right to endorse this unlawful procedure. But we continue to see and hear that our politicians would keep endorsing the unlawful legislations, such as LGBT Rights, homosexual marriage, abortion, taking the prayer away from the public arena, replace the Christianity with the other religions, and more. Most televangelists don’t preach the gospel from the Bible anymore, because it’s all about me, myself, and I. What I can do to receive the blessing (money) from God?

Where is your first love with God? God can bless you, but according to His will. In Isaiah 58:8-9 says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” We need to establish our relationship with Him. Do you want new beginning? Are you exhausted of being someone that you don’t want to be?

Do you want transform your life to spend eternality with Jesus Christ? God planned to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to us to pay our sins, so we can have free access to God and develop personal relationship with Him. Would you like to have personal relationship with God? If you’d like to know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I’d like to encourage you to do two simple things. First, confess your sins and invite Jesus Christ to your life. Summary of All God’s Laws
Topic: Laws of God

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (Matthew 22:37-40 KJV)

There are at least 613 laws of God in the Bible and yet, none of us may not able to keep them holy. Even though God understand our limitation, He gave us two simple laws for us to follow: love God and love other people. These two simple laws sum up the Ten Commandments that God gave them to Moses.

Let’s forward to our century. Even though our country was founded by Christian leaders, we continuously see that our moral values have been declined by our sinful acts. Let’s look at the public school curriculum. We continuously see that our children learn about other faiths, except Christianity, through Henry Potter books, mythology, astronomy, earth science, sex education, and history of crime investigation. If the religious professor would teach on the Christianity, the students would learn the historical aspect of it with using the secular resources and non-realistic resources, such as deVinci Code, other books of the gospel that are not part of the Bible.

Instead for people to follow two simple laws, they have made laws for themselves. Laws that are not spiritually healthy relationship with God. Laws that are focused for themselves and not others. People have been divorced themselves from God. Now, we see that homosexual activists are coming out from closet and advocate for their rights. We also see that our nation is trying to make more treaties with United Nation, which it is the main location for the coming of the world dictator, antichrist. Lately, we continuously see that our children have been killed by gunman, natural disaster, and sexual abused by their teachers and older kids. As a disability advocate, I continuously read news articles on disability discrimination that the people are facing in their jobs, schools, hospitals, and other public places. All these stories are sad for our nation and for God. Our nation is in high risk for God’s judgment. I hate to say this, but it is the true. God’s judgment will begin in the house of God (I Peter 4:17) and we are fit to this category.

But God is waiting for us to repent our sins and willing to reestablish His relationship with us. Are you the one? I don’t know what you are facing now, but God is willing take you through the obstacles with you, if you’d give up your own effort to Him. Even though I have a disability since the birth, it doesn’t mean that my life is useless. Instead, God has a greater plan for your and my life that He can use us to show the path of life to others who don’t know Jesus Christ.

God Cares
Topic: Hope

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (I Peter 5:6-7 KJV)

Currently, our nation has been running away from God and suffers some major consequences over many decades. We have seen our economic system is continuing to pile up with debts. Our children are dying because of gun violence at their schools. The natural disasters are continuing to become worse every year.

So, where is God? Why are we suffering from all these? Does God care our nation? These or more questions would come to our minds when the strike hits. There is no doubt that how God wants to help us; however, we’d call Him as the last solution to the problem. God knows how He can help us before we’d ask for His assistance.

But one of the problems is that we’d ask Him for the wrong reasons (James 4:3). We’d need to humble ourselves and trust God before we’d bring our requests to Him. Look how Esther asked the king to set free from the hands of Haman (see Book of Esther). Esther took many steps to build her relationship with this pagan king before she would ask him. Even though God knows the solution to our sticky situations, He wants to build the relationship with us. He is not just God of judgment. I know some people would have misconceptions between God in the Old and New Testaments. For example, God in the Old Testament fills with His wrath and judgment while the New Testament would about His love and kindness. We’d need to have whole counsel of God to understand His character. We’d need to accept 100 percent of the Bible as the whole counsel of God. I know there are many Bible versions at Christian book stores, which it could bring more corruptions into our minds and spiritual health. I’d prefer the King James Version, which it contains original Hebrew and Greek manuscripts. The New King James Version is the optional if you’d have a hard time to understand the KJV Bible. I use both KJV and NKJV Bibles to get better understanding the Words of God.

Does God care for America? Yes, I do believe that He cares for our nation. But God doesn’t like where our nation currently is. One of reasons our laws allow sinful acts so much is that we did not do our parts to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others. Nowadays, we see that some states allow the same-sex couples into marriage. We cannot bring the spiritual revival into our homeland until we’d confess our sinful acts to Him.

How We Can Make Difference?
Topic: Goal

And of some have compassion, making a difference… (Jude 22 KJV)

I’m not going to ask you how you can make difference in this world? But how you can make difference in your world for Jesus’ name? There are many ways for we can make major change the world system to make better places. We can recycle soda cans and any disposable things for us to use for different things.

Sadly, there are many churches are making difference for the world, not the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It’s like Christians are not hunger and thirst for the truth of God. Apostle Paul declared in I Timothy 4:1-3, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.” We began to see that North Korea is getting ready to make a war against South Korea and United States. If this would hit at either of country, we would see the first phase of the World War III. We also began to see that our Christian nation is becoming weaker and turn it to the day of Sodom and Gomorrah.

We have two choices to make difference in this world—hunger for the Word of God or hunger for the world system. Our world economic system is not getting better until the Antichrist would come with his system, which it would lead us to eternal death in Hell. However, Jesus Christ died for our sins and resurrected on the third day to establish His relationship with us. One day, He will return to the earth to establish His government with us. In the meantime, we have to do His great commission by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others and making His disciples.

Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

Why Jesus Goes to Heaven?
Topic: Heaven

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14:1-3 KJV)

Many people believe that they would go to Heaven when they’d take their last breathe on the earth, but they don’t know how they’d be at there. They may not know why Jesus went to Heaven on the first place, but not with us. In this passage of the Scriptures, we’d need to understand why Jesus had the right to enter into the heavenly place before us.

First, He is our Mediator between God and men (I Timothy 2:5). Jesus just didn’t die and resurrected on the third day for our sins. But God wanted to build relationship with us through His Son, Jesus Christ. Of course, God used many prophets to try to speak with His people in past, but “in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds (Hebrews 1:3).”

Second, He wanted to build relationship with us. It’s interesting that there is no word Christianity in the KJV Bible. Why? It’s a man-made word, Christianity. God didn’t bring Jesus to the earth to create another religious system, but to establish a relationship with us. This is why being a Christian is totally different than any other world religion. But, sadly, we made it into several denominational groups over the years and made it as another religion system. We have Baptist groups, who don’t believe in speaking in tongue; Pentecost, who doesn’t believe the right way to use to speak in tongue; Mormonism, who has totally different way to interpret the Scriptures; and more. I John 4:16 tells us that God is love. This doesn’t mean to create denominational churches. Apostle Paul forbids to create churches under somebody’s name (see I Corinthians 3).

Brotherly Love
Topic: Love

He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. (John 21:17 KJV)

The last love question that Jesus used the Greek word phileo, which it means brotherly love. According to John 21:15-17 Note in KJV Living Bible says, “Each time Peter responded with the word translated into Greek as phileo.” Even though there is nothing wrong the way Peter responded to His question, Jesus wanted to know the condition of Peter’s heart.

We often miss the point the way Jesus asked Peter questions. How would you respond if Jesus ask you “Do you love Me?” repeatedly? You would probably be frustrated with Jesus. Remember, He has a way of getting to the heart of the matter.

Let me ask you a question. Do you really love Jesus? If we love Him for His handiwork, that would not be the true way for us to love Him. Why do we think some churches may turn to millionaires? Some churches may don't have relationship with Jesus and most of their focus on relationship with people and their products to sell.

Do you love Him? If not, I’d like to encourage you to develop a relationship with Him. You would never be regretted.

Test of Love
Topic: Love

So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not. This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me. (John 21:15-19 KJV)

Do you know why Jesus questioned Peter if he loved Him three times? The first two questions, Jesus used the Greek word, agape, which it translated as self-sacrificial love. Jesus wanted to know Peter’s heart. In Genesis 22, we read how God tested Abraham’s heart by commanding him to sacrifice his son, Isaac. As a result, God blessed him and made him as the father of all nations.

Does God want to bless us? Yes, of course. There is no question about it. But there is the cost for us to receive His blessing. It’s ashamed for today’s preachers to teach their congregations to seek God’s hands for outpouring of blessing. God is not our spiritual ATM, but He is our King, Savior, and Father. We’d need to understand that God is waiting for us to take into His kingdom. We read in Revelation that there will be a great marriage supper of the Lamb (Revelation 19:6-10) that is waiting for us to take part of it. But we’d need to show Him how much we love Him. God showed us how much He loves us by sending His Son to die for our sins. Now, it is our turn.

Paul said in Romans 12:1, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. “ God knows we are not perfect human beings. We do not have anything perfect gifts to give Him. But we can present Him with our sacrifice living for Him. He wants to have relationship with each of us daily. Our living status is for Him and not for the world. Even though we are living in the world, we’d need to set our minds on things above, not on things on the earth (Colossians 3:2).

Jesus asked Peter the same question three times, not because He wanted to make him crazy, but He’d like to know the condition of his heart. Do you have the heart to invite Jesus in your life? If not, please consider to take a step of your faith to know Jesus Christ personally.

Risk of Love

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13 KJV)

Even though the month of February is considered as the month of love, I’d like to share with you some of the biblical aspects of it. Valentine’s Day is a big deal for some people. Even though Valentine’s Day arrived from the paganism, we’d need to understand why God loves us so much to send His Son to die for our sins.

It is sad that many church leaders have lost the passion to share the message of God’s love to their congregations. Instead, most Christians may learn about how God would bless them with materials. It’s all about self-centered Christians. Even though God can bless us materially, we need to develop our personal relationship with Him. God wants to have relationship with each of us personally. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Most televangelists have misused some verses that are related to material blessing so much that some of us do not apply this verse to our lives.

On the day of Jesus’ crucifixion, He took the risk that He didn’t need to pay for our sins. Paul said in Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” He didn’t need to deserve to face the death by His people. John said that even His people didn’t accept Him (John 1:11). But Jesus loved those who rejected Him.

Jesus already paid our eternal debts (sins). It is up to us to accept His free gift of salvation or not. We don’t need to go through catholic priests to ask God forgiveness for our sins. Instead, we can go directly to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. Paul said in I Timothy 2:5-6, “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” He is our Advocate (I John 2:1). “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world (I John 2:2).”

There is no other gods who took the risk for his people.

Secondly, I’d like to encourage you to find a good solid biblical teaching church and Christian friends. They can help you to build strong relationship with God.

What is the Purpose of Life?
Topic: Living Life

With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. (Psalm 91:16 KJV)

For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. (Psalm 90:9-10 KJV)

Have you wondered what the purpose of your life here is on earth? Most of us may know that God created us to enjoy our lives here on earth. But the ultimate reason why God created us is that He’d like to have relationship with each of us. It is sad that the most people may don’t think about God.

Currently, we are living in this world to satisfy ourselves rather than God. For example, some Christian leaders would like to try to climb the ladder of leadership positions through receiving approval from the people rather than God (and then people). I don’t think there is any higher church leadership position than the fivefold ministry that God gave each of us (Ephesians 4:11). Being apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher don’t mean one leadership position higher than the other four, but he/she may have more responsibilities to take care of his/her flocks. Even non-bible college persons can minister to the others about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and heal the sick.

Living a life doesn’t mean that we have the right to murder someone, especially unborn children, to please ourselves. I know some of you may disagree on this. Of all US Presidents, Barak Obama is the worse president to lead the nation. This doesn’t mean former presidents were not worst leaders. Since he took the office in 2009, President Obama decided to vote/sign to legalize abortion, LGBT rights, remove Christian symbols from the university auditorium, and refused to participate the National Day of Prayer. Just named few. God wants everybody, even unborn children, to have life before He'd take us to eternal home. If the mother would decide to abort her unborn child, she'd be considered as a murder and deserve to face her death bed through Capitol punishment. That was then. But now, the people legalized for the women to go through abortion to try to satisfy their lives. It is sad that our current president favored the abortion process. Anybody cannot judge the unborn child to have life or not, not even President and Supreme Court, except God. Only God has the right for the unborn child to have life on earth or Heaven.

The purpose of living a life is living a life for God rather than for someone else.

Heavenly Worship Experience
Topic: Worship

And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. (Revelation 19:6-10 KJV)

I’d like to conclude the worship series with looking forward to heavenly worship, which it will be at the marriage supper of the Lamb. I believe that our worship to God doesn’t end in our lifetimes in earth, but it will go forever. We do not know what this celebration would be like when we’d enter to the kingdom of God. But the Bible declares that the Heaven will be like Garden of Eden, which God created in the beginning of the world (Genesis 1-3) without the sun, moon, and stars.

I started reading the book on Heaven by Pastor Randy Alcorn from Eternal Ministries Perspective. In his book, Alcorn explained why most people want to go to Heaven with shortcut. They want to go to Heaven without establishing their relationships with Jesus Christ. That’s what the religions teach to people today. We can go to church denominations and learn many doctrines to worship and establish relationship with Jesus Christ, but it will become useless. Jesus gave us two simple commands—love God and love other people—but we’d come up with doctrines and theories to complicate what God is trying to saying to us. The Bible is the only reliable resource that God gave us.

I believe there will be dozens of us worshipping God in Heaven. But we need to worship God while we are still living here. Going to Sunday service to worship God is not enough to build our relationship with Him. This is everyday and ongoing process. Think about if we’d have air only on Sunday, then we’d all die after 12 AM would hit on Monday. We can’t grasp what our worship in Heaven would be like, but we can taste it here.

I don’t think my worship to God is the same as ten years ago or one day ago. We’d need to boost our worship to God each day, so Satan could not able to defeat us. We need to be true worshippers of God (see John 4:23-24).

Worship in the Battleground
Topic: Worship

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:10-12 KJV)

This past Friday, one of my church members and I went to Fredericksburg Regional Prayer Furnace, which it is closed to my home. As I worshipped and praised the Lord with song, one of leaders came to me and prayed over me. As she prayed, she said that my worship with song is the weapon to fight against the spiritual darkness.

Currently, our nation is at the battleground. Even though we are facing difficult financial crisis and moral issues, this battle is not “against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Most people may believe that God is judging us, but they don’t know why He punishes us. As the way this nation is going, God is trying to wake us up from our couches and turn this nation upside up for Him. I believe what Peter said in 1 Peter 4:17, “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God…” Our national economic system issue is not created by accident, because some of us may have misused our government money over years. We have built our national debts up to trillions of dollars that we cannot pay back to China and other nations we borrowed. It would take us several generations for us to free from the national debts.

We have lost our focused on Jesus Christ and turned into the worldly way of living. We blamed our politicians for our mistakes. Even though our politicians focus on the government system rather than God, we need to step up and take stand to assist them to lead into the right direction. We need to worship God rather than trying to legalizing homosexual marriage, abortion, and the use of weapons. We need to bring God’s name back to schools, so students can worship Him freely and they don’t need to take revenge on other persons for their actions. We need to worship God in home, so we do not need to go separately to live our lives. Today, schoolchildren are venerable and able to reach some kind of weapons to murder other students, because their families are kept arguing each other and not relying on God. It’s sad that many Christian homes are broken as equal to the none-Christians.

I don’t believe that any previous president, including Obama, had no idea when they made the treaty with the other nations, especially UN. They made an oath to God and to this nation as they elected to seat White House. Once the oath ceremony was ended, they started to go their own agendas to lead the nation. We, as the body of Christ, need to raise our voices to show them where we’d need to go from here. We need people like Moses and Joshua to lead the nation to the Promise Land. It’s not just enough for us to vote the person for President to lead the nation. God must be involved with the political process. Without Him, we would be kept digging for the solution to our messes.

What Do We Worship?
Topic: Worship

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. (John 4:23 KJV)

I’d like to ask you a question. What do you worship on a daily basis? It’s one thing to give praise to other people around us, but we only give worship to God and none of others deserve worship beside Him. The word “worship” means “to give honor” or “to serve.” Even though we can give honor to our military or serve in our community, but this kind of worship only belong to God.

Most people may seek for the earthly things to satisfy their lives, such as money, cars, housings, marriage, entertainment, and etc. These things are good for us to have, but when we’d put them on the top of our priorities, we are worshipping idols rather than God. Joshua said in 24:15, “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

As we see in this world, many people are trying to look for the answers to satisfy their needs. Unfortunately, they are looking at the wrong places. They worship wooden idols to receive the answers to their needs, but these wooden objects cannot answers to them. Or people are praying to Virgin Mother Mary on a daily basis, as co-equal with God, but she cannot speak to them. Mary, Buddha, Allah and other worldly gods didn’t approve themselves to deserve our worship. But why do people still worship them?

First, I think that they haven’t heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ yet. We see today many evangelists are preaching the Gospel at the large crowd rather than in a small village. In another word, the Gospel is not personalized to them. It’s ok to have large evangelism, but if the preachers would only go to large crowd of people to provide services, they are only looking for God’s hands rather than His true character.

Second, our country hasn’t awakened from spiritual fatness, because we have decided to shut our door from the public and let ungodly activities take over. It’s sad to see our president advocates for LGBT activists, Islam, abortion, and Palestine tries to take charge over Israel, the Holy Land. Why? Christians haven’t awakened from sleep. It only takes one Christian to speak up to bring God to our nation as one person spoke against His name in the public school.

We need to worship God with all of our strengths, hearts, and minds. We’d need to lose our spiritual fatness by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to individuals, who have not known Jesus Christ.
