The Early Church Eras (Acts 1:6-7): Time is Ticking
Topic: Act of Apostles
When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. (Acts 1:6-7 KJV)

In this passage, we see that the disciples asked a question concerning the nearness of Christ’s literal kingdom, which it is not incongruous with Old Testament promises (Is. 9:6, 7; Dan. 2:44, 45), nor with the gospel teachings (Luke 19:11; 21:31; 22:18). In Matthew 24, Jesus gave them a long sermon about His second coming. Again, as we see, these disciples were concerning about the timing of the event.

I believe that Jesus didn’t give us time of His returning for following reasons:

1)     God called us to spread the Gospel to whole nations without for us to worry about timing.

2)     If God would announce His date of returning, Satan would be ready to fight against Him.

However, Jesus left us some signs before His returning. First, He left us the sign of Israel. Since the people of Israel reestablished their land as nation in 1948, they are still dealing with issues from other nation. Ezekiel 38-39 predicts that the nations from north would plan to attack Israel and start Battle of Armageddon.

Why the whole world would attack Israel? First, it’s a battle between God against Satan. Second, there was a history of family rivalry since the lives of Abraham and Sarah. Even though God had a plan for their lives, Abraham and Sarah decided to have a child through their Egyptian servant, Hagar (Hebrew word for wandering). Hagar became a mother of Ishmael by Abraham, which represents the world. Due to their disobedience, their two children, Ishmael and Isaac, split into two separate families, which resulted in the birth of two nations—Israel and Arab nations. Even today, we continue to see that the Arabs and Israelite nations continue to fight against each other. This is why the two nations continue to feud in Israel. As Apostle Paul declares in Galatians 4:22, “…that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.” He was referring to Hagar (mother of Ishmael), who represented the bondmaid and Sarah (mother of Isaac) as the freewoman.

We currently see that our relationship with the Israelite nation is not doing well. President Obama currently pushes Israel to give up their land to Palestine. When the Israelite Prime Minister visit and spoke to US Congress, President Obama was absent from his presence; then, he did not follow through with the Prime Minister. What’s wrong with this picture?

We need to reestablish our relationship with the people of Israel. As we see from this past Friday, we let our Supreme Court ruled over homosexual agenda. Now, people can have marriage with same sex, children, or animal. If you read the fine print of this law, it’s more than gay marriage. We let the sin take over this godly nation.

Now, we, as body of Christ, need to wake ourselves up and spread the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout the land. It’s ashamed for us to see that other nations come to do evangelization, even though we have churches in every corner throughout all 50 states.

Do you have your relationship with the Heavenly Father? If not, I like to encourage you to develop your personal relationship with Jesus Christ today. First, confess your sins and invite Jesus Christ to your life. Paul said in Romans 10:9-11, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” There is no sinner prayer formula. Instead, you just talk to God at where you are now. Secondly, I’d like to encourage you to find a good solid biblical teaching church and Christian friends. They can help you to build strong relationship with God. The Early Church Eras (Acts 1:4-5): Promise of the Holy Spirit

And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. (Acts 1:4-5 KJV)

The first two previous messages were the brief introduction of the Book of Acts. Again, the original title of this book had been Acts of the Apostles. In the sequel to his first book, Luke wrote about how the Christianity had been populated throughout the world, began in Jerusalem. The word church is not about the building, as we see in verse 4, but have assembly with other people together to encourage and have fellowship each other. As I said in the previous message, Jesus began the church movement and not Peter.

After Jesus ascent to Heaven, the eleven disciples stayed at Jerusalem band wait for the Holy Spirit to come to them. Wait a minute. Have we forgotten one person here? There were eleven disciples, because Judas Iscariot decided to suicide himself after he arrested Jesus to Pharisees. Even though he made a bad decision, we want to give him a credit. If Jesus didn’t die on the cross, the first messianic prophecy (Genesis 3:15) wouldn’t come true. But, mostly, our faiths in Christ would become useless.

Why Jesus told them to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit? In John 14:26 says, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” The word for Comforter, it means one’s aid; one who pleads another’s cause before a judge, a pleader, counsel for defense, legal assistant, an advocate (Enhanced Strong’s Lexicon). The disciples cannot be witnesses to the world without further assistance. So, Jesus promised to send Helper for their advanced training. So that they can witness to the world about Jesus the Messiah. Luke 24:46-49 says, ”And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.” Also, Matthew 28:18-20 says, “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

The Great Commission, Jesus left, didn’t end at Acts 28. It still goes on until Jesus would return to the world. In the meantime, we need to be in workforce by building godly relationship each other on a regular basis. We are called to be children of God and He is our Father, who created us. We need to be connected with God and other people. We can’t do that until our willingness is involved. We need to encourage and assist each other; let the Holy Spirit assists us; and let God works in us.

The Early Church Eras (Acts 1:1-4): Background of the Book of Acts II
Topic: Act of Apostles

The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. (Acts 1:1-4 KJV)

The church didn’t begin in the Book of Acts. It began with Jesus’ announcement about building a church in Matthew 16:18. Matthew 16:18 is the misinterpret about the establishment of the church. If you’d ask Roman Catholic Church who built a church, they will say Apostle Peter, because Jesus gave him the keys of the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 16:19). However, Jesus didn’t ask Peter to become a pope of the church. If we look up the word church in Greek, it means “a gathering of citizens called out from their homes into some public place.” This is why Luke said in Acts 1:4, “And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem.”

The biblical scholar believed that Luke wrote his second book, The Acts of the Apostles, from 62 AD to the middle of the second century. Bruce Wilkinson and Kenneth Boa explained, “Twentieth-century archaeological discoveries have strikingly confirmed the trustworthiness and precision of Luke as a historian and show that his work should be dated in the first century. Luke’s perplexingly abrupt ending with Paul awaiting trial in Rome has led many to believe that Acts was completed prior to Paul’s trial (a.d. 62). If it was written after this crucial event, why didn’t Luke mention the outcome? Luke may have had a reason, but the simplest explanation of his silence is that Paul had not yet stood before Caesar. Acts gives no hint of the persecution under Nero (a.d. 64), Paul’s death (a.d. 68), or the destruction of Jerusalem (a.d. 70).” (Talk thru the Bible.)

The Acts is the historical link between the Gospels and the Epistles. Throughout this book, we shall see many works of the Holy Spirit who work through the apostles. Jesus promised in John 14:26, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” Again in Mark 16:15-18, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” The Book of Acts is still unfold church history book until God would close the book.

There is one survey that indicates American churches are going more into secular. Prophecy News Watch wrote, “Pew conducted two surveys between 2007 and 2014 on religion in America and discovered the number of Americans who claim atheism, agnosticism, or no particular faith grew from 16 percent to 23 percent. During that time frame, the number of Americans laying claim to Christianity fell from 78 percent to 71 percent.” As we see in today’s society, we usually don’t hear enough about people are getting saved and heal the sick than in the previous generations. If we’d look up the history during 1800s or earlier, we noticed that many people received the gift of salvation and healing. They heard more uncompromising messages from the pulpit than in this generation. Nowadays, most preachers may don’t preach about sin, hell, repentance, and God’s wrath anymore. American government slowly begins to prejudice against Christians if we’d preach against the homosexual marriage and LGBT activists’ agendas.

We need to stand firm more than ever. Within twenty or fifty years from now, our Christian freedom would become useless in this country. The government may give us to accept the faith in Antichrist or face the death penalty because of our faiths in Jesus Christ.

Where are you? I’m not just writing this blog to help you to understand the history of Christianity. We need to prepare whatever problem this world would give us. We are living in a sinful world until God would refurnish this world and make it as Garden of Eden again.

The Early Church Eras (Acts 1:1-3): Background of the Book of Acts I
Topic: Act of Apostles

The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God… (Acts 1:1-3 KJV)

Last four messages, which I blogged, was on the end time. Even though we don’t know the date and hour of Jesus’ returning to the earth, we must be prepared to meet Him. As we read in Matthew 25, there are two groups of people to meet the Lord Jesus Christ. Yet, as we see the result, the first five of people made to the wedding feast and another group had missed their opportunities to the feast due to their laziness.

In this new series, we will look at the history of Christianity in early church era to our generation. I believe that we are the last generation before the return of Jesus Christ. As the clock is ticking, we physically see what is happening in Middle East today, especially in Israel. Our own president (Obama) has shown disgraced to the people of Israel; and our nation continued to go far away from God by legalizing every ungodly laws for the people can abide into. Our Supreme Court system had been messed up that our judges don’t know what is right from wrong. Our public educational system is corrupted by removing God (Jesus Christ) from the Christian students; and bringing other religious systems into campuses. We continue see the progress of deception in our churches, homes, and politic arenas. Again, Paul said in I Timothy 4:1-3, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.” We need to search the scriptures daily (Acts 7:11), so that we can be witnesses to those who don’t know our Lord.

The Book of Acts is a continuation from the Gospel of Saint Luke. In his first book, Luke wrote very in-depth details of our Lord’s birth, ministry, death, and resurrection. Theophilus probably was a Roman official, since Luke designates him as “most excellent Theophilus” (Luke 1:3). The Greek term (kratistos) is used only three other times in the New Testament. Each of these is used to address a Roman official: Felix (23:26; 24:3) and Festus (26:25). One of facts in this book is that Luke did not conclude the church era entirely. The church era has not ended until Jesus would return to the earth and take His Church to His wedding feast.

Originally, this book was called The Act of Apostles. But all available Greek manuscripts designated it by the title Praxeis or Acts. This Greek word was commonly used in Greek literature to summarize the accomplishments of outstanding men. While the apostles are mentioned collectively at several points, the book really split into two parts, the acts of Peter (1–12) and of Paul (13–28).

In the next session, as we continue to study Acts 1:1-3, we want to know who started the church. Was it was built by Peter or Jesus? This is a conflict issue between Roman Catholic Church and Protestant Church.

Signs of the End Time (Part IV): Is the America in God’s Eyes?
Topic: End of the Age

For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me. (Zechariah 2:8-9 KJV)

Most biblical prophecy teachers are trying to figure out where is the United States in the end time. Even though there is no indication that the U.S. in the Holy Bible, it doesn’t mean that she would escape from the wrath of God. I Peter 4:17 declares, “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God…” Don’t make mistakes that God would give our nation up after He tried to reestablish His relationship with her. Instead, He still loves us and likes to have relationship with each of us.

Right now, our nation is becoming as other pagan nations by choosing ungodly ways to lead this nation. Currently, our nation doesn’t look good with Israel. In May 7, 2015 Prophecy News said, “US President Barack Obama did not wait for Binyamin Netanyahu to finish building his new government coalition by its deadline at midnight Wednesday, May 6, before going into action to pay him back for forming a right-wing cabinet minus any moderate figure for resuming negotiations with the Palestinians." (Read The Final Poke In God's Eye? - Obama To Support Palestinian State At UN Security Council.) If President Obama would discontinue working with the Israelis Prime Minister, we would go into deep hole of God’s wrath. I don’t like to say this, but that is where our nation going.

Over the last 12 months or more, I read across to many articles that our nation is legalizing homosexual marriage, marijuana, and more. Since the U.S. has been legalized the pro-choice (abortion), for example, many unborn children hadn’t seen the light of God’s creation in this world. We have been broken the sixth law of the Ten Commandments, which says, “Thou shalt not kill.” Many school children are learning about witchcraft through Henry Potter book series; and Christian children cannot pray and read His Words in the public schools. Why? The church has been silenced and let the LGBT activists come out from the closet.

Apostle Paul said in I Timothy 4:1-3, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”

As the end time prophecy is continuing fulfilled, we have to choose to be family with God or with the world. James 4:4 says, “…know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” Our nation is in a sticky situation now. We cannot escape from the wrath of God until we put Him first in our life. Are you ready to meet the Lord Jesus Christ when He would return for His Church? If not, I like to encourage you to develop your personal relationship with Jesus Christ today. First, confess your sins and invite Jesus Christ to your life. Paul said in Romans 10:9-11, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Signs of the End Time (Part III): Days of Deception
Topic: End of the Age
That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (II Thessalonians 2:2-4 KJV)

I believe that we are in a critical time in the world history. There had been many deceptions taken places over the entertainment, news, and religious media. If we turn to news, we may hear that one of our politicians have some problems with his criminal charges that he tried to hide from the media. Also, it’s happening in today’s churches. Do you know why televangelist programs spend more times with selling their products than sharing the gospel messages of Jesus Christ? Or why they are promoting themselves more than Jesus Christ?

If we study why some churches have impacted with some thousands people weekly, we would find out whole purpose is not about worshipping God, but seeking God’s blessing for our needs. Remember, during the Old Testament era, people of Israel faced several sticky situations because they relied on their own government rather than God. As a result, God disciplined them by taking them into captivity.

In II Thessalonians 2 is all about the strong delusion at the end time. If we read verse 11, there would be a strong delusion that sends by God for people to believe. Even today, we some of us may fall into delusion that is created by government, community, nation, or ourselves. I don’t like to mention that our nation is continuing fall apart from God because we deceive ourselves by relying on our government. Verse 12 says, “That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

So, what we can do to stand against the delusion? We can’t stop from happening during the last day. We need to prepare ourselves to be at the forefront of the spiritual battle (Ephesians 6:10-18). The battle is not ours, but God’s (I Samuel 17:47). We cannot be deceived by anything if we rely on God. Right now, our nation is messed because we believe some lies by our people. However, we can lead the people into God’s direction by sharing His love and good news through His Son, Jesus Christ.

Signs of the End Time (Part II): Sign of the Coming of Antichrist

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. (I John 4:3 KJV)

Over the years, many biblical and secular scholars have guessed who would be the world dictator that would control the whole world. Some of them said President Barack Obama since he is the first African-American candidate got elected to the White House and is appealing to the world, especially Arab nation. Some said Prince Charles of England or Pope Frances. In fact, there have been many spectacular over the Catholic popes over the years. No ones would find out who would be the Antichrist that would control the world, yet, the Bible gives us many hints about him.

Let’s go back to Isaiah 14:12-14, which says, “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” As I said in the first part of this series, Satan’s main goal is trying to be more powerful emperor than God. In the Book of Ezekiel said that he was once an angel of God. As the time went on, he tried to compete against God; and he failed to be with His other messengers (Job 1-2).

As we read in 1 John 4, we understand that the antichrist (Satan) knows who God is. By the way, the Greek word for antichrist is antichristos, which means the adversary of the Messiah. He is the antagonist. We read in Genesis 3 that he was trying to be smart as God by tempting Eve, which he won on that round. If Eve would be obedience to God completely, we would not see all the mess that we see today. However, God is in control. His time is not like ours. We read that Satan has very limited power over the world.

In Revelation 13, we see that he would curse at God, do miracles and wonders, and can control the economy system. He cannot just appear to the world scene until the ten nations come together to form the New World Order (government, religion, and economy). Even though our pastors may don’t preach on this very important subject, we see the progress of the biblical prophecy is beginning to fulfill. There are very few churches that stand for the truth like the church in Philadelphia (Revelation 3:7-13).

Even though I am not called to be a biblical prophecy scholar, we all need to know some signs of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus left us very important signs of His coming before He returned to Heaven. We have duty to carry His messages out to the world. Jesus said in Matthew 24:14, “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

Signs of the End Time (Part I)
Topic: End of the Age

And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? (Matthew 24:1-3)

In Matthew 24, Jesus told His disciples about things to come. Remember, Jesus had not glorify Himself from the dead yet. This sermon was before He faced horrible death penalty that He had ever faced. Why Jesus told these future prophecies to His disciples? Can these prophetic words reliable to our generation? If we look Matthew 24 more closely, we will find some of the events had already fulfilled after Jesus ascent to the heaven, some are already progressing, and has not fulfilled yet. When we read and watch our daily news, we see the progression of the bible prophecy. For example, few years ago, one of the Virginia State Delegates received the legislation to pass the bill for all the Virginians to receive the microchip in their skins. As I read one of the articles in my local newspaper, one of the delegates stood against the idea of this microchip, which we recognize as the Mark of Beast (Revelation 13). Using the technology is good thing. However, if the technology that relates to globalization or UN is meaning serious business, which it could lead us into the Antichrist. This may be same with UN disability treaty (Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities), which it has not passed through US Senate yet.

But we first will discuss on the deception within the churches. Jesus warned us in John 14:30, “Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.” Who is the prince of this world? Even though God originated this world, the world is partially dominated by Satan. But, as we read in Job 1-2, Satan cannot dominates anything until he’d receive permission from God. His goal is trying to be higher than God as we see in Isaiah 14:12-14: “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.”

Sadly, there are many churches have failed into the devil’s method of deception. If we’d wonder how our education system is messed up, because we have not stand for the truth. Look into our government system and see how our current leaders stand for the ungodly laws because of our actions. Our current president has decided to support Palestine to take over the land of Israel. It is sad enough for Obama to make our nation as socialism through his healthcare law, but let God’s enemies to take over His Holy Land of Israel. God said in Genesis 12:3: “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

Right now, we have a president, who likes to please everyone, except God, truly born-again Christians, and unborn children. If we look back through the last two or three decades, our nation has been kept loosing Christianity heritage. If the person is in America, he or she automatically becomes Christian. As we may have noticed in any religion book, we don’t see a chapter on Roman Catholicism, because it has been blended with the Christianity for over 1500 years. Now, we do same thing with Islam. Some churches already have combined with the Islamic group and came up a name with Chrislam. That’s where TBN has started to sell some products on Islam.

Antichrist cannot arrive until the deception would be taken places. Revelation 13 tells us that he would do miracles and wonders. “And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority (13:2).” Most today’s televangelists have loose the meat part of the Word of God. Now, most of their sermons on how God bless us. Look some today’s preachers, such as Joel Osteen, Joyce Myer, Benny Hinn, and Kenneth Copland. They spent about 95% of preaching on things we need and 5% on God’s. Paul warned us in II Timothy 4:3-4, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” This is why I don’t give their references on my ministry blog.

Let me ask you a question. Who is Jesus Christ?
Topic: Gospel
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. (John 1:1-5 KJV)

It is very obvious that many of us may believe that Jesus was born on the first Christmas. However, if we read all four gospel accounts in the New Testament, there is no single mentioned that Jesus was born during the winter season, but during the springtime (see Luke 2:1-15). “…the early church did not celebrate Christ's birth, but such celebration only came into the church with the ‘Christianization’ of pagan rites as Catholicism was made the state religion by Constantine in the fourth century A.D.” (Should a Christian Celebrate Christmas?.) There are other reasons about why few Christian churches do not celebrate this modern day Christian holiday. For more exploration on this subject, please visit MGJC Web Ministries at www.mgjcweb.org and click Holidays.

Apostle Paul proclaimed that Jesus was the beginning of everything in heaven and in earth (Colossians 1:15-17). This confirms what John said about the Word (Logo). Jesus came to the world, so He can lead us to the light from the darkness of our sins. He said in John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” I have heard one of the televangelists said that Jesus only taught about the kingdom of heaven, not about Himself. This is non-sense. Throughout the Gospel of John, we read that Jesus is the way, life, resurrection, shepherd, and more. We can put our values as the first priority, but there is no hope for us to receive eternal security than through Jesus Christ. I love what Paul said in Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” There is no other substitution to receive that kind of love.

I don’t mind how Christians suppose to celebrate Christmas, but it is our responsibility to turn on our lights on other persons to show the way to have personal relationship with God.

Now Playing: The Road to the Gift of Salvation
Topic: Gospel

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12 KJV)

It is significant that the most people want to go to Heaven, but they don’t like to see the death bed. Instead, they believe that there are many ways to Heaven. Operah Winfrey, President Barak Obama, Faith Building Pastor Joe Osteen and some today’s evangelical preachers said that there are other ways to God. Why?

Even though many evangelical preachers may believe that they preach the truth of the Words of God, they may use a very small percentage of the biblical references in their sermon. It is sad that the most televangelists teach on Christian living and how to become rich beings. When I listen to Joe Osteen’s messages, I hardly hear messages on salvation, spiritual discernment, sins, God’s wrath, and His discipline methods toward us. Listen to what Joe Osteen told in his interview with Larry King on June 20, 2005:

KING: But you're not fire and brimstone, right? You're not pound the decks and hell and dam nation?

OSTEEN: No. That's not me. It's never been me. I've always been an encourager at heart. And when I took over from my father he came from the Southern Baptist background and back 40, 50 years ago there was a lot more of that. But, you know, I just -- I don't believe in that. I don't believe -- maybe it was for a time. But I don't have it in my heart to condemn people. I'm there to encourage them. I see myself more as a coach, as a motivator to help them experience the life God has for us.

Motivator speaker? Even though we need to hear some encouragement words from the pastor, we also need to hear the message on the negative side, so we could be aware of our actions toward God and people. Throughout the books of Gospel, we read that the most teachings of Jesus are about the hell and sin. About nine years later of Osteen’s interview with Larry King, his preaching method didn’t change much. Without the biblical discernment message, the church maybe in a high risk of losing their gift of salvation and spend eternity with God. Building a multibillionaire mega church doesn’t mean that the preacher proclaims the truth. Paul said in II Timothy 4:3-4, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” We need both encouraging and discernment messages in order to retain our gifts of salvation and do our parts.

Jesus said in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” Praying a Rose Mary Prayer or Lord’s Prayer doesn’t guarantee that God is listening to our prayer. The gift of salvation means that we have totally accessed to Him. We do not need to have appointment with priests or pastors to confess our sins. That was from the Old Testament era. The priest or pastor does not have the power to forgive our sins, but he can show us how to pray to God. Jesus said in John 11:25-26, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” Not Virgin Mother Mary, Buddha, Hindu, or any gods that were created by men can save us from the darkness of sins. Only Jesus. He is the only Savior who can forgive our sins and lead us to the light. Even though Virgin Mary gave Jesus a birth, it doesn’t mean that she is the mother of Church. There is no biblical reference that God gave Mary this divine power. We need to give respect to Virgin Mary, but it doesn’t mean that we need to worship and pray to her. Otherwise, we would be breaking the one of the Ten Commandments if we’d idolize Mary as co-equal with God.

Let me ask you a question. Sanctification of the Cross
Topic: Gospel

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God… (Hebrews 10:10-12 KJV)

Why Jesus died on the cross? The Bible said that He faced the most painful death penalty ever. Isaiah 53:3-5 says, “He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” He didn’t deserve the painful capitol punishment for our sins, but He did. Paul said in Romans 5:8, “…God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Hebrews 10:10 said that “we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” His death set free us from sins. His death drew us near to God. Jesus didn’t just hang on the cross and died. I have hardly to see the cross with Jesus on the church wall. This shows some humiliation. The Bible said that after Jesus died on the cross, He resurrected back to life with His new body. Even though His scars were still in His hands and feet, He received His new physical body. We cannot comprehend on this until we, too, would receive our new bodies. I encourage you to read I Corinthians 15 to see some glimpses of what our new bodies look like.

The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ helps us to reunite with God. We need to separate ourselves from the darkness of sins. We can’t do this ourselves until the Holy Spirit would intervene with us. Romans 8:26 says, “…for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” We can have experienced eternal life with God now, not just waiting for God would take us to Heaven.

Set a Boundary
Topic: Discipline

For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy… (Leviticus 11:44a KJV)

In this day of the age, we have easily found our identities with the world. Everything we see in the world, our eyes begin to attach to things of the world. Every commercial we see on the TV or hear on the radio, we would become addiction to what we see. Even though there is nothing wrong of buying new things for ourselves, we need to set some boundaries between the physical and spiritual things, time with the world and time with God.

Unfortunately, there has a major shift changes within the churches over the years. As we see what is happening in churches, many people may lose their identities with God. The Bible says that we need not to fall in love the world (I John 2:15-17). “If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him (I John 2:15b).” We need to sanctify ourselves with God and not with the world. It is ashamed that we don’t hear the message on the sanctification in the church today. It’s all about our Christian living than giving blessing and honoring God. The sanctification is based on the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. He is the reason that we are saved by His grace and He doesn’t remember our sins. But this doesn’t guarantee that we are totally free from sins. As long as we alive in this world, we need to crucify our flesh and carry the cross daily to follow God. I know this is not easy for us to do, but with God, it’s possible thing for us to do.

Second Peter 2:9 says, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light…” We are called to be royal priests. This doesn’t mean that we need to be some bible experts. God knows that we are not perfect as He is, but He calls us to be holy people. Hebrews 10:14 says, “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.” It is not enough how much work we need to put in order for us to get to God. It’s about our relationship with Jesus Christ. Even though we born in sin nature, we have the purpose to born in this world. Jeremiah 1:5 (God) says, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”

I don’t know what circumstance you are going through in this very moment. I do not need to know. Because God already have the answer you are searching for. You only need to accept it. Isaiah 55:8-9 says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” When the world tells us to be rich materially and fame, we don’t need to follow the worldly ways to receive God’s blessing. Instead, we need to listen Paul’s advice in Philippians 4:19, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” We need to make some boundaries between the two worlds. We have the power to sort it out.

Be Aware Dreamer
Topic: Prophets

If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. (Deuteronomy 13:1-3 KJV)

Within the short days, America kids and adults are celebrating Halloween. Without realizing the true meaning of what this holiday is, Americans are getting ready for their exciting and spooky night of the year. Truly, this holiday is nothing to do with Christianity, but it has to do with Satan and his demonic activities. “Many Christians think that Hallowe'en is an outgrowth of Christian tradition honoring the saints of the Church. While the name and most recent influences of this holiday appear to be Christian (the name means the evening before All Hallows, or All Saints Day), most of its customs are remnants of ancient pagan superstitions connected with the Druidic new year. The date was a joint festival known as Samhain (or Sowein), held in honor of the Celtic people's sun god and their Lord of the Dead.” (HALLOWE'EN: Should Christians Be Apart?)

Sadly, most today’s churches may decide to celebrate this ungodly holiday as the Christian holiday. Many churches open their doors for the youngsters enjoy the trick or treat in a safe environment. Whether the children are doing Halloween activities in the church or outside the church, the goal of the activities are remained the same: worshiping Satan on the eve of hallow night.

As I said previously, there are many false prophets and teachers out there, who may lead us to ungodly things. There are some preachers who say that if we’d give $1000 to TBN or Daystar, God will give you double of the blessing that you gave previously. This is out of the context. Yes, God can give us money, but He can give us more than money. He can give us healing to our sickness, spiritual insight, and more. But we need to build our relationship with Him first. God is not a genie of the lamp. Most today’s preachers may act like today’s false physics. Even though God gave some of us gifts of prophecy, we must use it wisely to help people.

God gave us the dream to see His plan for our lives. We can read about what God did to Joseph through his dream in Genesis. Even though Joseph learned the hard way, God opened the door for him to be the second commander of Egypt.

Too Many Versions of the Gospel
Topic: Deception

As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. (Galatians 1:9-11 KJV)

Sadly, we have too many versions of the Gospel today. If we’d listen to many preachers and Christian music throughout the week, we listen to some strange messages that constrict against the Words of God. For example, some preachers may have only feel good messages for the congregations and less on the biblical discernment. We need both encouraging and discernment messages in our spirits. Paul said in Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” To live for Christ, we need to crucify our flesh and surrender ourselves to Him. It is not enough by going to the church to hear on the message from the pastor for the week. We need to make our times with God each day by praying, worshipping, and reading His Words. Once we become Christians, we are the holy priesthood (I Peter 2:9) to our families, community, and nation.

As I said, there are too many priests/pastors to proclaim the false gospel. I identify the top five false gospels:

  • We are the little gods.
  • People may sound like certain animals or creatures after the pastors touched and pray for healing with the individual on the telecast.
  • Pastors may do not preach on God’s wrath, hell, sins, except feel-good messages.
  • God blesses us with finance, health, and material possessions.
  • Our churches to advertise with goods and services to maintain the media expenses.

These and others are mostly taught in today’s America churches. I heard when Kenneth Copland said that God made mistake to create Adam and Eve on the first place. This is none sense. How can we say that God made some big boo-boo after He gave them life? If He made mistake, why we are here? But, mostly, why Jesus Christ came through the lineage of Adam (Luke 3:23-38)? Or if we are equal to God, why we hardly go to Hell and return to the earth? If we’d believe some TBN programs that explain some people went to Hell and back, there must some biblical evidences to support their stories. In Luke 16:19-31, Jesus said that there is a big gap between Hell and Abraham’s bosom, and no one able to escape from the hell.

We need to interpret the Holy Words of God by whole context of the passage. We can’t pick one verse from the Scripture to preach one hour sermon. I do not believe that most televangelists don’t use the KJV Bible because they may think that they’d lose some of their members. When we’d see the cutting line of the scriptural passages, such as NIV, it is not from the original manuscripts.

Deuteronomy 8:3 says, “…that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.” It would be impossible for us to know God if we’d obey God part of it. King Saul tried it and he failed to keep his kingdom. If King Saul would keep God’s words completely, the lineage of Jesus Christ came through him.

We always need to “be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine (II Timothy 4:2).” There are too many false messages that send out to the world; and many people would decide to abide into it. Paul said in I Timothy 4:1-3, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”

True Worshippers
Topic: Holiday
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24 KJV)

Beginning on October 31st, we will arrive to difficult and exciting season of the year. Few Christians may understand that Halloween is celebration for the satanic activities. What were some people worshipping between October 31st and November 1st? According to the most references lead that some people worship Satan on the High Holy Day (October 31-November 1). This is why the most kids go out for the Trick or Treat. They do not know what they’d receive until they knock the door. It’s fun, but bad it’s practice for the kids to participate in. Matthew 7:10 says, “…if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?”

As I said the holiday season is the most exciting and difficult season of the year. Why I said that? Even though the holiday season is the time for us to gather with love ones, we often forget to give honor and worship God during this time of the year. Most American Christian holidays are not actual from the biblical standard viewpoints, if we’d look into both Christian and secular sources. But, it is also time for us to gather with friends and family to worship God and share the Gospel messages to those who do not have Jesus Christ in their lives.

Over many years, Halloween and many pagan holidays have been entered into churches successfully and Christianized them. For example, Jesus was born on Christmas Day, even though Christmas did not exist until 300-400 years later by the one of Roman Catholic Popes. The actual season, when Jesus was born, was during the springtime of 6 BC (compare with Luke 2).

Why I brought all these aspects of holiday season? First, most today’s churches are not like 50 or 100 years ago. We do not see many miracles within the church than 50 or 100 years ago. We have lost in contact with God. As we see on the media, many televangelists have preached more about how we can receive blessing from God than developing our relationship with Him. We need to seek His face than His hands and God will pour out His blessing upon us. We do not need to bring our requests to Him because He already knows what we need. God is our Abba (Father). In fact, we do not need to go to the priest or pastor to confess our sins, because Jesus is the Mediator between God and men (I Timothy 2:6).

Secondly, many America churches have emerged with the world system that can’t tell what it is from God or the world. For example, most today’s Contemporary Christian Music are almost similar to the secular music lyrics or tune. When I listen to some CCM on the TV or radio, I hardly feel the anointed of the Holy Spirit due to the mixture with the worldly tune or lyric. This is the same thing on anointing when we listen to the sermons on today’s media.

We need to return to what Joshua said to his people. Joshua 24:14-15 says, “Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Did you feel the anointing on these two verses? We have to choose who we worship. I brought the Halloween subject because many churches have adopted this satanic tradition, along with Christmas and Easter. There are some of us do not know this dark secret of America holiday traditions because preachers may do not like to bring the subject to the pulpit or they are more concern with maintaining their congregations.

Let me ask you this question. Do you want to have deeper relationship with Jesus Christ? I didn’t know about the Halloween or CCM really mean until God opened my spiritual eyes. If you like to receive the revelation from God, I like to encourage you to develop your personal relationship with Jesus Christ today. The Day of Pentecost
Topic: Gospel
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. (Acts 2:1-5 KJV)

What was the day of Pentecost for the twelve apostles and what it means to us today? The word Pentecost means fiftieth day. It is the second of the three great Jewish feasts, celebrated at Jerusalem yearly, the seventh week after the Passover, in grateful recognition of the completed harvest. As we read in Acts 2, we see that there was something great event about to take a place. Even though we are not biblical theologians, we need to understand how the Church began and made widespread to the whole world.

The books of Gospel didn’t end with the great commission that Jesus gave to the apostles, or the Book of Acts didn’t end with Paul’s journeyed to Rome, Italy. In fact, the Book of Acts doesn’t have ending until Jesus would return to the earth to take His Church. We are the bodies of His Church. In I Corinthians 6:19, Paul declared that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost. In the beginning of the universe, we were in the temple of God. As we read in Genesis 2-3, Adam and Eve talked with God easily as we can talk with each other today. Adam and Eve were in the temple of God. But, now, we are the temple of God. We need to invite Him into our lives to have relationship with Him. God just cannot come into our lives to take over. No, He didn’t do that at the Garden of Eden and He doesn’t do with us today. We need to understand that God is a loving Father, but He is also our Judge and Advocate.

The Day of Pentecost didn’t start with hundreds of people as in Azusa Street in 1906, but few (between 12 to 20). Apostles and few women were in one small house. They didn’t come out until the Holy Spirit began to move on them. We just read that in Acts 2:4, “…they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” We do not know what other languages they spoke than Hebrew and Greek. But it was the day of harvest was completed. Throughout the four books of the Gospel, we read that Jesus called the first twelve disciples to be the fisher of men. The number twelve means the government. Jesus called His disciples to lead the world with the Gospel and message of the hope that they can reunite with God. Jesus stayed on the earth, after His resurrection for fifty days, to train His disciples to lead others to the light of the gospel.

What is your completion of harvest? Are you sowing the seed by sharing your testimony of faith with your family and friends? We all have received seed from God to make multiplication; and it is up to us what to do about it. We can sow our seeds wisely to make double, three, or more seeds; or hide it and use it unwisely.

Active God’s Words
Topic: Word of God

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11 KJV)

Over the years, people misused the word handicap, which they refer to the people with physically challenges. If we would break the word into three parts, we will clearly see that the word doesn’t relate to the person with disability, but it relates to the beggar. Even today, we may misuse God’s Words for our purposes and not His. As we just read Isaiah 55:11, the Bible, which we are holding, is the map of God’s ultimate plan for each of us and the world. Even Satan conquered this world at Garden of Eden (Genesis 3), God has not finished the earth yet until He would say the final words.

What is God’s will for your life? Even we may struggle to find the purpose of God for our lives, God has provided the manual book to each of us, the Bible (Basic Information Before Leaving the Earth). It’s just not filled with ancient historical events. The Bible, which we are holding, is very active to our lives. It gives us the healthy tip, life application, mathematics, science, biology, earth history, music lesson, and God’s future plan for this world. Many people may think this world will be annihilated permanently and God would recreate the earth. Even though God will bring the judgment against this world, He will not destroy it permanently. He will redesign the things that He already has created.

In Genesis 1, we read how the whole universe formed. It was by God’s spoken words. No wonder why Apostle John wrote, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1).” Scientists cannot prove His handiwork by the Big Bang Theory. If there would be Big Bang before the explosion of the atom, we would have difficult to answer on how we can live on the earth.

The words that God puts in our lives have mission and value. We need to share His words to the people. That was why there was Pentecost after Jesus ascent Himself to Heaven (see Acts 2). The twelve disciples were too comfortable in the small house. The revival didn’t start at the one of houses, but in the community. Even though we need to be gathered at the church to worship God and train ourselves, we also need to spread out to share the Gospel of Jesus

But we cannot do it until we have relationship with God through Jesus Christ. What is the Bible Mean to You?
Topic: Word of God

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 KJV)

I believe that most today’s Christians may spend not much of time reading God’s Words on regular basis because we nowadays are in computerize age. We can put our food in the microwave in 5 minutes to cook our meals. We can Google the word or phrase on the Internet to get information within a second. Or we can watch or listen to the televangelists to receive God’s Words in our living rooms without opening our own Bible.

About 80 percent of Americans call themselves Christians. If you are in a Roman Catholic Church, Mormon Church, or Methodist, you are Christian automatically. Being an active member of the church doesn’t guarantee that we are children of God. These three churches, I mentioned, may not carry the true Words of God or representation. If you would do the research on these churches, you would find that there are more than one god they worship, rituals, and rules.

The Bible is not a just historical book, but it is an inspiration of God (II Timothy 3:16) that speaks to us. It is our weapons to protect ourselves from the darkness of sins. Sin can do two or three things since the Garden of Eden. It can separate us our relationship with God. It can bring wages of sin to death eternally (Romans 6:23). Finally, it can bring physical death. Death didn’t start after Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s command. Many people think that Adam and Eve ate the curse apple, which it comes from Walt Disney’s Snow White and Seven Dwarfs. We do not know what fruit Adam and Eve ate because the Bible didn’t clarify on this.

Paul said that the word of God is “the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6: 17).” We cannot just read the Bible as the book. We need to meditate on God’s words and apply to our daily lives. It is that there are at least 100 different versions of the Bible in America alone. Why we need to water down to make God’s words comfortable to our lives? We have NKJV, NIV, NCV, TLB, and more to make sin comfortable and enjoyable. Most today’s preachers may able to make their own versions of the Bible for their congregations. It is dangerous thing to do. Revelation 22:19 says, “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” For those who made modern versions of the Bible may accountable their actions. We need to be doers of the Holy Bible. We are God’s representatives to show His love and messages to the world.

But we cannot do it until we have relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Living a Healthy Godly Life
Topic: Health

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. (Philippians 4:8 KJV)

Throughout the Bible, God gave us the best advice or cure for our sickness of our physical and spiritual bodies. Even though there are many medicines in the world, there is only one person who can bring healing in our bodies. That is Jesus Christ.

Most of our sicknesses come from our self-focus and nothing to do with our relationship with God and people. We don’t see many healing in the church today because it’s all about me, myself and I. It’s just about how we can get blessing from God than how we can bless God. There are too many preachers today who teach on these things. I read several articles on exposing today’s preachers and found that the most mega church preachers teach on the feel good gospel messages because of money. Their messages are not about how we can have strong relationship with God and people in the community. For example, Joel Osteen always have smile and brings a feel-good message on the telecast. There is nothing wrong with feel-good message, but there is no discernment to protect ourselves from sinning against God. Paul said in II Timothy 4:-3-4, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” We need to protect ourselves from our own lust. If not, our relationship with God would be useless.

Romans 8:7 said that “the carnal mind is enmity against God.” While we are living in this world, we are dealing with the things of this world provides us versus things in God’s kingdom. We may have some strongholds that pull ourselves away from God, such as work, family, football game, and etc. Even though these are not making us to sin, we put these items as our priorities than our time with God. For example, some people may stay in home to watch some Sunday football games than to be with God’s family. If watching some sport games are important to you, then how much God would miss you at the church. Going to the church service is not about joining religious service as tradition Baptist worship service. But it’s about spending our times with God and our brothers and sisters in the body of Christ. Apostle Paul said that we “are the body of Christ, and members in particular (I Corinthians 12:27).”

Paul said in I Timothy 4:8, “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.” We are being in good physical shape helps little bit. If we want to be 100 percent healthy, we need more than just eating, exercising, and being active. We also need to feed our spiritual bodies by spending the time with God through reading His Words, praying, worshipping, and praising. The word “worship” is just not about raising hands during the praise and worship portion of the service. It is a word that we are honoring God. “In the New Testament the Greek verb proskuneoµ means to kneel or prostrate oneself in honor or supplication of a human being, or to do this in worship of God (King James Bible Word Book).” Anybody can’t receive this kind of honor, except God. But God blesses us when we do our parts.

I don’t recommend Eastern Mysticism type of exercise, such as Yoga. Even though it is a good way to relax our bodies, we would bring other spirits into our systems that pull us away from God. It is an ancient Hindu practice. Although the most today’s teachers may say that it’s modernized that would not effect Hindu practice, it’s still teaching us how to improve our self-images than relying God.

God planned to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to us to pay our sins, so we can have free access to God and develop personal relationship with Him. Would you like to have personal relationship with God? If you’d like to know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I’d like to encourage you to do two simple things. Basic Understanding of the Cross
Topic: Gospel

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. (Luke 9:23-24 KJV)

Almost two thousand years ago, God brought His Son, Jesus, to us to die for our sins on the cross. Between Him, there were two thieves that represented us—rebellion and rejection. Let’s explore what these two thieves have to do with us.

Rebellion: Throughout the Bible, especially in the Old Testament, people were stubborn and not willing to listen to God. In the Book of Exodus, the people of Israel had always complained to Moses to get something, even though God provided them food and shelter while they journeyed to the Promise Land. Even though we did not have forty years on the desert, we still rebel against God. During the last couple decades, we continue see that our nation has turned against God. Since the Oklahoma bombing in mid-90s, we continually see that our school systems are not safe for the students to learn to prepare for their future. Our Christian kids are not safe to express their beliefs publicly; instead, they fight for their rights with the help of ACLJ in the courtroom.

Rejection: Since the Obama and his administration took over White House, we see that our nation has rejected God and made itself as the pagan nation. Even before they took the office, our nation slowly went further away from God. I’m not taking any political side, because either republican, democratic, or independent have not really wake themselves up to repair the damages that this nation made. Why? We are arguing about which the political party is fault rather than showing them some possible solutions. Nowadays, America has turned against the traditional marriage and family; instead, people can have any type of relationship, such as same-sex, with animal, and multi-marriage relationship within the family. We also can’t tell which churches that represent the true Word of God, because some churches have adopted the ungodly laws that the Congress and President have approved them.

If we watch any Christian TV and radio programs, we don’t hear teaching on the cross, salvation, sanctification, hell, heaven, and justification. Instead, their teachings are on Christian living, prosperity, and improving self-esteem. Today’s messages are not like 50 or hundreds years ago. Some of us may have forgotten how to seek God. One of myths that the most people believe is that if the person is American, he or she is considered as Christian. That’s 100% fault. Paul said in Romans 10:9-10, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” We need to have relationship with God through Jesus Christ. You cannot have boy/girlfriend without establishing relationship with someone first. This is same with God. He has feeling for us. He wants to have an intimacy relationship with each of us. But we need to let our idols go and take His cross to follow Him.

This is why His cross is represented as Redemption. Jesus set us free from the darkness of sins. I don’t know what problems you are facing today, but Jesus is willing to take care of your problems if you’d let Him. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-30, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Being a Christian is not about joining a religious group or cult, but having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Are you willing to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior? If you do, I love to hear from you.
