Deception of the 21st Century III: Women Preachers in the Church
Topic: Deception

In this message, I’m going to discuss about the house, business, and church leadership positions. This topic of the leadership position is the most misunderstand concept of this generation. Most male preachers don’t talk about how God set a leader within household, church and workplace, because it sets limit on women’s leadership role. Although the title of this message may seem to be all against the women, women can still serve and help the church and community. I Peter 2:9 says that we are all royal priesthood to those are believers, including women, men, youths and children of God.

Unfortunately, God wants men to be leaders of their households, churches and workplaces. As we see in our generation, the most married women are responsible of everything in their communities and men may decide to stay at home to work around the house. This is sad to hear that men’s wives have to be their bosses to take care their husbands. Now, we see that women lead the churches and men may sit at the rest of the church congregations. This is not proper way to lead the church or any business. Men should first step in the leadership role and take care of his family, businesses and finances and women should support their husbands.
Turn your Bible to I Timothy 2:8-15. Before we would go to the passage, let me tell you that the most male preachers may discuss the first eight verses in I Timothy 2 and skip the last seven verses. Otherwise, they would interpret I Timothy 2:8-15 as how women to be behave when they lead the church. It’s none sense.
Now, let’s read I Timothy 2:8-15 (KJV).

8I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. 9In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. 11Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 15Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

In this passage of the Scripture, Apostle Paul begins by saying that men should be prayer warriors if they are the leaders of their communities. We, all men, must continue to connect with God, because we are chosen leaders to lead His people. If we have family, our family members are not only belong to our lives, but they also belong to our Creator. Before your children born, they belong to God (cf. Jeremiah 1:5).

Also, in verse 8, all Christian men have to be honest to God and to people. Let’s read verse 8 again, “I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” To be a leader of your family, a man must be holy before God and people—that is no secret sin or lies. Although our sins cannot be hidden from God, He can reveal our wrongdoings to our people.

Do you know what is the number one that Christian families may decide to divorce? Most psychologists may tell you its financial issue. This may be true, but that is not the main cause. The number one that Christian families may decide to break apart is dishonesty. Dishonesty to your spouse and to your children. Children learn how to lie to others is not from their own, but from their own parents. This is the sad truth. They watch what their parents do and act like them, because parents are the model for their youngsters. Cain lied to God that he didn’t murder Abel (Genesis 4) because he learned from his parents’ history. Since the serpent taught Eve to lie to God, this stake has never ended. If you, man, want to be a godly leader, tell the truth honestly. This goes the same for mothers and children.

Then from verses 9 to 15, Paul talks about the leadership role for the women. Notice, Paul didn’t start to talk about women’s leadership after the men’s. If we read in earlier verses in I Timothy 2, we will notice that Paul deals with men first. Man was the first human being that God created on the sixth day of the creation (Genesis 1:27a) and gave him a dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:28).

As Apostle Paul begins to deal with women’s leadership role, he starts with women’s manner and style. In I Timothy 2:9 says, “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array…” Most today’s girls and women learn that putting heavy makeup, braided hair, wearing sexy clothes or wearing much jewelry is the coolest things that they ever have. After that, they don’t satisfy and they would want more. In I Samuel 16:7 says, “…for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.” If the woman wants to be godly lady, then she must adorn herself as just she is. Of course, she needs to make herself look good, but not too much makeup or too much jewelry that the other men would have wrong ideas to seek their partners.

Here are some errors for the women to avoid when they go outside the house:

  • wearing too much makeup
  • wearing too much jewelry
  • wearing fancy dress, such as the dress that shows naked part of upper body and legs
  • deciding to take tattoo on the body, that is worldly circumcision (satanic cult)

Christian girls or women must be dress and/or wear makeup appropriately that shows respect on God and people. They also need to feel good about themselves. We all need to be transform our minds that is good, acceptable and perfect will of God (cf. Romans 12:2b). We don’t need to be good on the eyes of people if we don’t wear fancy clothes, but God accepts us as just as we are.

Sisters, read verse 10 and memorize to your thought, because that’s what God wants for you to do.

Then Paul tells us that women have to be silence with all subjection (v. 11). What it means that women have to be quiet with all subjections? Can ladies speak freely? Yes and no. Most preachers have misunderstood this verse for generations. However, I do believe that women can freely express about themselves and what they do and what they believe in. They can share ideas within communities and churches, but according to what Paul wrote, women cannot take the top position of churches or any businesses, such as pastors, CEOs, deacons, bishops, presidents, and any kind of top positions. I understand some of you may disagree with me and I am uncomfortable with this to discuss about it, but it’s on God’s Word and we cannot change this.

Some of you might say, “Why Sarah, Rachel, Miriam, Deborah, Ester, and Ruth can be used by God to lead His people?” These were some of the faithful servants of God that He chose. I don’t believe that these women chose to be prophetess, judge, or mother of the nation by themselves, but God. If God need someone to be there with the man of God or if He cannot find the righteousness man to lead the nation, He can chose a certain woman to take his place or to be his partner.

Let’s read verse 12 and find what are some of these are. Paul says, “But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.” What authority over the man that the woman cannot do? These are: pastors, deacons, bishops, judges, congresses, house bosses over husbands.

Why? The answer is on verses 13 and 14: “For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.” If Eve didn’t fail to the serpent’s trap, then men and women would have equal duty for the Lord. Now, since Eve failed for the trap, women have limitation on their services to God and men have double duties to maintain their families and businesses. Some countries, such as South Korea, when the man and woman decide to get marry, she has to quit her job to take care their household.

Let’s go to Genesis 3 and read verses 16-18. The difference of men and women’s duties didn’t come from Paul or my ideas, but from the biblical history that was spoken by God.

16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. 17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

In this passage, after Adam and Eve disobeyed the Lord, God gave them some sets of rules. As we read in verse 16, God multiplied pains on Eve (or woman), even pain through labor. Also, in this verse, God let the woman desire to be with her husband and let the man rule over her. But, God let the man to do all hard labor for their living (vv. 17-18). This is why Paul said the women cannot rule over any authority. This is why the men are to be dominated over their families, churches, and businesses. If the woman should lead the family, church, and business, one or more points can be occurred:

  • husband is not a spiritual or professional leader of his family, church, and business
  • wife has a relationship with God and her husband doesn’t
  • wife has more professional skills than her husband

It is true that the both man and woman should have leadership skills that where they can lead their family, church, and community, but the man must be dominated and let his wife supports him.

What the other duties for women if they cannot be leader over husband, church, and businesses? One of these duties for women is taking care of her child(ren) (I Timothy 2:15). Of course, she should take care and save the childbearing, but it’s more than that. Do you know why many schools have after school activities for students until the late afternoon? Most both parents have to work and they don’t come home 2-3 hours after their children return from schools. Most surveys on family times would say either:

  • Most teenagers don’t spend much time with their family after they all complete their work day.
  • Most teenagers would decide to go home late, because both of their parents are working late.
  • Most teenagers would decrease their academic grades because there aren’t any help them in their homes.
  • Most teenagers would decide to go and join the clubs outside the schools.

One or more of these can be true and it’s becoming reality today. This is why God let the mother stay at home or close to home and father should be outside the home and working.

Men, do you lead your natural and spiritual family from God’s perspective? Or let your wife do all the hard work outside your home? God created women for one reason: support men. That is why God set up the marriage between the one man and one woman. Of course, women have the other duties from God, but He called all the godly men to be leaders.

If God call women to be leaders of their businesses, there is nothing wrong if they get approval from the LORD.

If God calls all men to be ahead of their families, businesses, and churches, the time is right now. We, men, have been sleeping. Right now, we would have about 80 percent of women, who are married, are working and taking charge of their households and businesses for their families.

Let… let men to be ahead of their families and take care them. Let men to be shepherds of the churches and taking care their Christian brothers and sisters with God’s visions for His children. Let men to be business leaders and lead their employees. It is time for godly men to wake up from la-la land and do what God told men to do. I know the way I address this may seem too aggressive and loud to soak this in your soul. But it’s very serious issue for today’s America. Many families are broken and children are distressed, because their fathers cannot lead them in the way of God. If the children need somebody to be with them are their fathers.

Men, are we strong for our people? Fathers, do you have time for family devotions, where you and they can be together in the presence of God? If not, please consider today to take action with your family to read the Bible and talk with God. Don’t rely on your church to do all the work for your children, although they need their spiritual family for once or couple times a week for their time with them.

But, most importantly, let God be centered of your family, church, and business life. If there’s any great resource in life issue, God is the one whom He can give you.

God calls men and women to be leaders of the land that He gave both of you, in right way.

Are you saved? Are your love ones and friends saved in the grace of God through Jesus Christ? The purpose of this study is to help you to become closer relationship with Jesus Christ. As Jesus said, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms, if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." (John 14:1-3.)

If you are lukewarm in your relationship with Jesus Christ and want to know Him as your personal Savior and Lord of your life, please consider asking Him to forgive your sins and invite Him into your life. Paul says, "That if you confess with your mouth, `Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believed and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10.) If you have done in your private room or workplace, then you need to tell to your friends or love ones about what you have done, so they may rejoice with you and want to have that relationship with Christ in their own life. There are many occults in the world, which do not know the love of God and His great plan for those who believe in Him. As it is written in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

There’s Joy in Trial of Your Faith
Topic: Faith

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. (James 1:2-4 KJV)

When you have some problem your life, would you able to rejoice? Being a Christian does not mean that we are free from all the hardships and can be rejoiced everyday in our lives. Whether we are Christians or not we all have to face difficulties to achieve our goals.

In Battle Cry for Believers series, we will look some biblical heroes to see how they overcame difficulties to continue to live for God. For example, God putted Abraham into test to sacrifice Isaac as a burnt offering to Him. Even though it was hard for him to do the test from God, Abraham decided to obey Him rather than his feeling. Some of the challenges that the biblical heroes faced may seem to be harder than what we’d face everyday, but we have to sacrifice ourselves to God daily to live for Him.

When we have to face the crises in our lives, it’s hard for us to have joy. Joy doesn’t come out from nothing. We have to accomplish something before we can celebrate our joyful life. For example, we cannot be rejoiced until we can accomplish our college master degrees. Even tough college education is higher level of schooling and we’d have some struggles to learn the benefit of it, we can be happy when we’d be graduated because with college degrees, we can do any job that would lead to our professional career goals.

One thing that God cannot do for us is that He cannot help us to escape from our problems, but He can show us the way to escape it. We all have to learn the way to celebrate our lives with God. And, we can increase our faiths by our actions.

Book of Romans Study: Paul’s Profile I
Topic: Book of Romans

As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison. (Acts 8:2 KJV)

Before we would go into the Book of Romans, we must need to understand about the life of Paul. The first time mention of this author is in Acts 8 as his original Hebrew name, Saul (Paul as in Greek). He was born in Jewish nation and came from the tribe of Benjamin as the first king of Israel, Saul the son of Kish. He was born about the time of Christ’s birth in Tarsus (Acts 9:11) and was also a citizen of Roman. As a Jewish leader, he was also a Pharisee, who hated followers of Jesus Christ.

Before his conversion to Christianity, Paul was the one of Pharisees and tried to persecute every believer in Jesus Christ that he can find in the face of earth (Acts 8:1-3). In fact, Saul murdered his future brethren, Stephen by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Jews (Acts 7:1-8:3). Unfortunately, God did not let Saul kept killing His people.

As we read in Acts 9, Saul was on the way to Damascus to kill more Christians, Jesus showed up to this murder. “And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.” (Acts 9:3-7 KJV.)

Have you wondered why God didn’t stop Saul until he’d get closer to Damascus to kill Christians? We must first to understand that God didn’t protest to His people to escape from Saul. He wanted to show Saul that there is God who is in charge of this land. The land of Israel was founded by God and He gave it to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants. It was not about protest. God wanted to show Saul who He is and wanted to used him as instrument to bring His lost people into Himself. God also wanted to use Saul to give new dream in his life. Hebrews 11:40 says, “God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.”

There is so much information on Saul’s (or Paul’s) life that we can take to apply into our lives. The first four of the New Testament is on the foundation of Christianity, but when we get into Paul’s life and his writing, we can find the life application to our own life. The whole books of the Bible are our daily living manual book that God gave us. We have choice to use the Bible as just religious textbook or a handbook for our livings for God.

The Redemption of Cross
Topic: Calvary

And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst. And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. (Luke 23:43-46 KJV)

The first two crosses were represented as how we respond to God when He would call us to come home. We may seem to settle here for good, but when we think about it that our own life has very limited lifespan. As we will get older, we will loose sight and eating habit, and become disabled (see Power of Disability Series). So, we can conclude that our earthly home is not eternal living settlement. However, our earthly life is depending on which place that we would be living eternally—Hell or Heaven.

Without understanding of third cross, we would become useless for the Kingdom of Heaven . This final cross explains why Jesus had to die for our sins and resurrected on the third day. Some philosophers may think Jesus didn’t die, but faking it. If that was true, then why apostles were shocked when they saw the empty tomb?

Jesus died to redeem our sins. He had conquered the darkness of sins for us, so that we may become children of God. He resurrected on the third day, so that He can live in us. The Bible tell us if we repent our sin and believe that God raised His Son from the dead, we shall be saved. This means that God doesn’t remember all our sins more, unless we would bring up back to Him, and can access to Him.

As we see Luke 23, Jesus saved the second man from going to Hell, because he reasoned why he and his partner had to die. If there is a man who would be willing to die for his wrongdoing, God would probably change His mind to punish him. Instead, He would bring him to His home as what the father had done to his prodigal son did (Luke 15).

Are you saved by the grace of God? If you are not saved but want to be saved, I’d like to invite you to know Jesus Christ today. Only Jesus Christ can save you from the darkness of sins. Freemasonry, Islam, or Roman Catholicism or any Christian denomination churches cannot save you, except through Jesus Christ. He is the Redeemer who has conquered Satan and has a key to Hell. He is Christ the Messiah who will come to the earth as King of kings and Lord of lords. There is no other substitution to enter the Kingdom of Heaven , except through Jesus Christ.

The Repentance of Cross
But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. (Luke 23:40-42 KJV)

Another person on the cross beside Jesus was also committed crime, but this thief was totally different from the first man (see Sunday, April 15, 2007). The first man accused Jesus to save his and other guy’s life, but the second man was questioning his partner. How many of us blame at God, instead of looking our own mistakes?

The second man asked his partner why he asked Jesus to save them. He might also have said, ”We have to right to die, but He didn’t need to deserve to die with us.” We must not think ourselves to be equal with Jesus. The Bible says that Jesus suffered all the trials just as we have been, but He didn’t commit any sin. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV.)

Then the second criminal asked Jesus to remember him when He goes to His kingdom (see Luke 23:42). This guy wanted for Jesus to forgive his sins. As we read closely to this guy, he didn’t formulate his prayer to ask for Jesus to forgive his sins. He looked his life and realized that he deserved to be death for crimes which he did, but Jesus died for His people. Nowadays, we see many churches use the sinner prayer to give the people to chance to invite Jesus into their lives. This simple sinner prayer formula may don’t guarantee to access into relationship with Jesus Christ. We have to use our own wordings to ask Jesus to forgive our sins and live in our hearts.

Repenting our sins doesn’t require the prayer formula, but we must pray sincerely within our hearts, minds, and mouths. Jesus didn’t die for people who have the right words to repent their sins, but for people who sincerely within their heats to repent their sins.

The Rebellion of Cross
Topic: Calvary

And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. (Luke 23:39 KJV)

Before Jesus died on the Cross, there were two other men hanged beside with Him—one man with anger issue and another with calm and peace. Although the Bible does not mention why these two men were captured by Roman soldiers, we are all guilty as these two men to turn our ways from God.

We were once rebelled against God just a man in Luke 23:39. Romans 3:10-12 says, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.” We were once become a children of Satan who decided to refuse all the goodness of God. See what this first man say to Jesus. He didn’t have idea who Jesus was. Next week, we will look the second man on the cross.

Look around our community today and try identify ourselves the changes over the years which we have made. You may have begun your life journey without Jesus Christ. Or you may have decided to let Jesus go in your life since you were 16; and now, you want Jesus to return to in your life. It’s hard to continue our life journey without Jesus Christ. We all have experienced to rebel against God and it’s not go away easy. We cannot stop to make mistakes, because Satan is still trying to come into our lives and destroy our relationship with Jesus Christ.

But we can stop of being friends of rebellion with Satan. We have the power to destroy Satan’s plan if we decide to come and realize that we need our personal Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 10:10, “The thief [Satan] cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

The three crosses were not just crosses for capital punishment, but they represent why Jesus had to die for us. One of the crosses was for those who rebel again God.

Special Message: His Agony and Our Fellowship
Topic: Calvary
By Oswald Chambers
"Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane , and saith unto the disciples… tarry ye here, and watch with Me."(Matthew 26:36, 38 KJV)

We can never fathom the agony in Gethsemane , but at least we need not misunderstand it. It is the agony of God and Man in one, face to face with sin. We know nothing about Gethsemane in personal experience. Gethsemane and Calvary stand for something unique; they are the gateway into Life for us.

It was not the death on the cross that Jesus feared in Gethsemane ; He stated most emphatically that He came on purpose to die. In Gethsemane He feared lest He might not get through as Son of Man. He would get through as Son of God - Satan could not touch Him there; but Satan's onslaught was that He would get through as an isolated Figure only; and that would mean that He could be no Saviour. Read the record of the agony in the light of the temptation: "Then the devil leaveth Him for a season." In Gethsemane Satan came back and was again overthrown. Satan's final onslaught against our Lord as Son of Man is in Gethsemane .

The agony in Gethsemane is the agony of the Son of God in fulfilling His destiny as the Saviour of the world. The veil is drawn aside to reveal all it cost Him to make it possible for us to become sons of God. His agony is the basis of the simplicity of our salvation. The Cross of Christ is a triumph for the Son of Man. It was not only a sign that Our Lord had triumphed, but that He had triumphed to save the human race. Every human being can get through into the presence of God now because of what the Son of Man went through.
Oswald Chambers (1874-1917) was a Scottish minister and teacher whose teachings on the life of faith and abandonment to God have endured to this day. This daily devotional is a collection of his teachings compiled by his wife into a daily devotional format. It's presented here in the original English. His wife's comments may be found in the Foreword. We publish this with the prayer that Oswald Chambers' teachings will help you grow in your walk with Christ. Eyewitnesses of Risen Lord
Topic: Resurrection

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. (I Corinthians 15:3-8 KJV)

Do you know which of disciples saw the risen Lord Jesus in His tomb first? Many of us may think it was John. In John 20:6-7, it says that Peter saw that Jesus fold His linen clothes. And Paul says that Jesus was seen by Peter (or Cephas) before other twelve disciples (last disciple maybe Paul in Acts 8). According to I Corinthians 15, Jesus saw more than 500 of His followers after He resurrected, for 50 days. That is not included Paul. After that Jesus finally met with Paul on the way to Demascus (Acts 9).

Nowadays, some historian researchers are trying to prove that Jesus’ bones were in the tomb and hadn’t risen from the dead. It is sad news when the people may decide to fix that biblical history is considered as wrong. In fact, the movie, DaVinci Code, is trying to teach us that Jesus had been married to Mary Magdalene and had a child. If this is true, then our Christianity faith would mean nothing.

However, we have eyewitnesses that what the world may tell us is considered as wrong. Even though many of us didn’t see risen Jesus as His disciples saw, we can experience with our faiths. We can believe that we have risen Lord Jesus in us because we can see how He works with the other people around us.

We can be sure that we are children of God because we can love others just as He loves us. Paul says, “Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.” (I Corinthians 13:4-8 KJV.)

Revival of Prophet Jonah
Topic: Revival

But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. (Matthew 12:39-40 KJV)

In the 312 Azusa Street Home Page says, “Los Angeles was ripe for revival in the spring of 1906! Christians throughout the city were praying for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The previous summer, a Holiness group hungered for a revival during their camp meeting. One of the speakers warned if they didn't ‘dig in’ God was going to pass them by and ‘raise up a people who would.’"

In the Book of Jonah, God commanded this lazy prophet to go to Nineveh to proclaim the message of hope to escape from God’s judgment on the land. Although Jonah tried to disobey his assignment, God shook his laziness tail off by taking him into the belly of whale. Even though Jonah knew God would judge the people of Nineveh, he cannot escape from God for not doing his work. If Jonah didn’t go to Nineveh, there would be no spiritual revival to save themselves from going to Hell; or understand there is God who would like to take care and love them. Of course, after several years later, people of Nineveh turned their back on God and lived sinfully; as a result, God judged their nation.

Jonah’s imprisonment in the belly of whale has been meaningful to the symbolism on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and also to the revival of our lives. Most preachers may believe that Jesus died on Good Friday evening and resurrected on Easter Sunday morning. If this is true, then Jesus lied about the prediction of His death and resurrection, and the original Passover in Exodus would become useless to the Christianity. However, we can be sure that Jesus’ Words became true as it is written on the Old Testament by reading through original historical documents and the Bible. Jesus died on that Wednesday evening at 6 pm and resurrected on that Saturday evening at 6:01 pm.

Also, the resurrection of Jesus can tell us that we have the hope to break from slavery of darkness of sins. The Bible tells us that we were once become slave to sins before we accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Savior.

We can have revival in our lives by accepting Jesus’ invitation without going to the revival convection. Revival is not about coming together with millions of people to worship our King Jesus or to renewal our spiritual energy, but to have intimate relationship with Jesus Christ personally. We cannot know Jesus more personally until we’d experience with Him by one on one.

The Resurrection and the Life of Christ
Topic: Jesus Christ

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? (John 11:25-26 KJV)

What does it mean to have Resurrection Sunday? Most Christians believe that having Easter Sunday means to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Sunday after Palm Sunday. Most of them believe that there is no different between Easter Sunday and Resurrection Sunday. However, the KJV Bible on Easter (Acts 4:12) refers as Passover and there is no other verses to contain the word “EASTER.” The other definition of the word EASTER can be found in pagan term as to worship the sun god. (Read Easter Origin at Holiday Section of MGJC Website.)

Jesus said that He is the resurrection and the life. We can have life through Him and there is no other religions can provide something greater than what Jesus has.

Jesus died and resurrected on the third day (evening) to give us hope that there is life that is everlasting. You and I can experience it with Him now without waiting for us to die and accept His invitation. We only need to believe in Him and begin to fellowship with Him everyday by reading His Word, praying, helping each and encouraging other. Some church leaders may tell us that we’d need to have more Bible reading and praying times, and giving more money to our local churches to get more blessings from God. Although there is nothing wrong with these things, God wants us to experience the resurrection and life away from our safety zones, so we can reach the outer parts of our communities. There are other people who haven’t known Jesus Christ and we are the tools to reach the lost souls into God (Matthew 28:18-20).

If you are new to the Christianity, I’d like to tell you that you can find hope of what you’re looking for, if you invite Jesus to come to your life. You can receive the Eternal Life without facing second death that would lead to Hell. Romans 5:8 says, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” You can do that in your private home just by asking Him forgiveness of your sins and invite Him to your life. It’s just simple. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Test of Faith
Topic: Faith

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. (Romans 5:1-5 KJV)

How many of us would have to face our daily tribulation every day? How many of us may decide to give ourselves up when our tribulations are too rough? It’s not easy to go through our day without the situations. If we think we can go though our situations without faiths, we’d let ourselves down.

The definition of faith can be found in Hebrews 11:1-3: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” We can face our daily trials if we have faith in God—which it produces to patience, patience to experience, and experience to hope. This hope will bring joy in our lives. We cannot experience God-given joy until we experience to go through tribulations.

I understand many hardships that you would need to go through to get the joy of the Lord. Being a disabled man, it doesn’t mean that I cannot have the joy in my life. Some people would think being a disabled person means that he/she has curse from God or has demonic possession. That’s 100 percent false. Of course, some demonic activities may turn the person as not normal person, but into scary person. However, God can use a disabled man in powerful way that we cannot imagine. He would only need to do is to believe in God and trust in Him.

Jesus faced the devil when He was in the wilderness for forty days (Matthew 4; Luke 4), because He had faith and put trust in His Father. Was Jesus rejoiced after spending in the desert without the food and drink for forty days? I believe so that Jesus was relief and rejoiced over the angel’s protection with His Heavenly Father.

Whether we have disabilities either by physically, spiritually, emotionally, or mentally, we can have joy in our lives with God through Jesus Christ. This is why Jesus died on the cross and resurrected on the third day. We can receive joy through the blood of Jesus Christ.

God wants to test us, so we can face the giants to overcome into the joy of the Lord.

God is Our Physician
Topic: Love
Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psalm 103:1-5 KJV)

In Isaiah 55:8-9 says, “’For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ saith the LORD. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.’” Throughout the Bible, we see that God blessed His people and healed them from their diseases, sickness. In the New Testament, we read that we can give all of our worries to Him because God cares us and loves us.
But most of the time, we missed the opportunity to let God heals us. Instead, we would decide go to our medicine cabinets or make a doctor appointment to get ourselves well. Although there is nothing wrong about these actions for ourselves, we can just ask God to heal our sicknesses. There maybe a time when our doctors have nothing to give us to be cured. For example, there is no answer for doctors to answer to cure the cerebral palsy patient or certain type of cancer.
We have to ask God through prayer and fasting to heal our sicknesses. It’s not having enough by just taking medicines to get heal, but we need to spend quality time with our Eternal Father, because He shall supply all of our needs (see Philippians
4:19), even when we’d get sick.
One of TV evangelists said that God has failed to taking care the world. There is no way that we can approve this theology. But what we can approve is our own mistakes. We have limited thinking in our minds which we cannot comprehend into the mind of God. This is why God provided us the Bible—His every written instructions for us to understand His plan for us.
We have all experienced sicknesses in our bodies and there is no one who hasn’t say, “I’m hurt” or “I’m sick.” Even Jesus tasted His pain while He hung on the cross for our sins, yet He didn’t curse to God or to all the humanity. But when we would feel our pains, we may yell or scream for help us immediately.
God is our Physician and He can heal us. We only need to just ask Him through prayer and fasting. There is no special location to let Him to heal us.

Power of Strength
Topic: Failure
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. (Philippians
4:13 KJV)

Have you ever fail to accomplish tasks in your life? If you ever to incomplete your tasks to reach your destiny, you are not alone. There is no one go through the task without experiencing failure. Paul says that we all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). If you are in physical situation, there is a moment that you want to quit in the midst of crisis. I have been there.
Unfortunately, we may not to choose to go to the road of failure. We all can have the power of strength to overcome any obstacle that comes to our lives. Others may tell us to quit because we don’t have energy to overcome it. That is what Satan wants us to be. But the Holy Scriptures tell us we can overcome any obstacle with the help of God. Philippians 4:13 is the key for Paul’s obstacles. We can call upon Jesus to ask for help.
There are too many churches who pray hard to God to receive some answers to their life crises without asking Him first. God may accept our immediate requests, but He will not always to give answers to what we need. We have to work on our parts to our prayer requests and then He can give us the second half to our requests.
We cannot receive the power of strength from God until we’d do our parts. Even though we may cry hard to Him for our needs to be met, He still may hold the answer to release upon us until we’d do our parts.
We need to learn how to fail and get back on track again first. God knows what we’d need before we would ask Him. But God wants us to learn from our own mistakes before we’d cry to Him.

Peter’s Love Test
Topic: Love
So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. (John 21:15-17 KJV)

What do you do on Valentine’s Day? If you have husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend, would you like to do something special with her/him? What if your partner would put you into test to show her/him that you care about him/her, what would you do?
Jesus tested Peter by asking the same question three times. Jesus tested Peter because He would like to know his character more—to see if Peter follows Him all the way. Not half way! But 100 percent guarantee to follow Jesus. We know Peter when he tried to die at the cross for Jesus, yet He did not allow him to do so. We know Peter died upside down on the cross for Jesus’ sake.
Why did Peter decide to face the death for Jesus and His other millions followers? It was not Peter loved Jesus’ miracle working hands, but His compassion of love. If Peter decides to follow Jesus because of His miraculous power, his love for Jesus would become powerless. We do the same thing sometime. We would decide to hate our people because of color, sex, religion, or other ethical background. Or we decide to break up within marriage due to our financial crisis or miscommunication within in the household. Do you love someone because of wealth, power and fame that another person has? Or do you love someone because that person loves and cares about you and other people around you? If we love our stuffs than our people, than the love of God doesn’t affect to us.
Even though Valentine’s Day doesn’t fit to the Christianity’s vocabulary, God gave us a command to love each other as Christ loves us.

Receiving Healing Power
Topic: Power of Disabilities

And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. (Acts 3:5 KJV)

In Acts 3, there was a cripple man at the gate of temple and begged to receive something from the people to live. Although it doesn’t tell us specific items that this beggar asked for, we understand that he needed some help to put his life back together. We’d probably know that this man was having a hard time to seek some assistance from his community. Most people, especially Pharisees, wouldn’t do something with him because he’s filthy and mess.

But not Peter as he crossed by the temple. Although Peter didn’t have money, he gave this man something greater than the gold or silver. He received Jesus Christ in his life and the power of healing. Because of Peter, this poor man became a spiritual rich from being poor. Many people may miss the opportunity to meet the beggar and became spiritual poor.

Even though we have many Christian churches in America, it doesn’t mean that we are secured spiritually. Some of mega churches may act like the rest of people in Acts 3. We understand many people go to the worldwide healing services to get healing in physically, spiritually, mentally, and financially, but their requests may not be answered. We cannot receive the healing until we know Jesus Christ and have built relationship with Him.

Peter didn’t ask Jesus to heal the man immediately (see Acts 3:6). Instead, he explained to this beggar that he didn’t money to drop in the offering plate. But Peter didn’t stop there. He had something to give to this beggar that was far greater than money—that was introducing him Jesus Christ. Then Peter lifted the beggar up to begin the healing process (v. 7).

Money doesn’t cure your illness nor going to healing services. The only way that we can receive the healing in our lives is through our personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

God is Able

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. (Ephesians 4:20-21 KJV)

Most preachers may use Ephesians 4:20 as to believe that God can give us financial blessings. But we should not use this verse to proclaim only for our financial blessings, rather than, in every part of our lives. God can give us things that we prayed for, but He can give us more than we’d ask for if we’d ask Him for things sincerely in our hearts. God can able to work with us in His plan.

God also can work with us greatly whether or not we are in physical situation. Although you may received some rejections to employ some places due to your disability, God can hire you as just as you are. Paul says in I Corinthians 1:27-29, “But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.” We don’t need some special recognition to employ at the mission field.

Pharisees misunderstood what Jesus was doing on the Sabbath Day to heal the blind man (John 9). They didn’t understand that Sabbath was made for all the people to rest upon the Lord from their hard work. Sadly, we ignore the Sabbath Day over centuries and misplace it with our schedules.

We need to rely more on God and believe that He can able to use everybody to accomplish His plan. If you are physical disabled person, you don’t need to listen to all negative things about you. I had been there and it was not much encourage to me. But God doesn’t give discouragement and let us down immediately. Even though the challenge may seem impossible to complete, God will give a lot of encouragement and stay with us until the end of the course.

Are you distress to hear all the negative things about you? Don’t let your people pull down you easily. Instead, fill your life with God’s Words that are encouraging to help you to get through obstacles in your daily life and let the Holy Spirit guides you.

Making Wrong Choice
Topic: Living Life

And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite: Which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah. (Genesis 26:34-35 KJV)

Living a life is all about making some choices for our own life. We all have to make decision to continue to live our lives. Even though we are made from the image of God, it doesn’t mean that He has to choose which way we should live a life. But God gave us the freewill to make some decisions for our own life.

In Genesis 1:26-30, we read that God created the man and gave him the dominion over the earth to make fruit (or character), multiply and replenish the earth, and subdue it. Even God gave assign Adam to name all the animals in the earth. This means that Adam has to make a decision to make names of each animal. Also, since God instituted the marriage between Adam and Eve, they had to make decision what kind of life that they should live for as unity. Of course, their marriage life became disaster after they decided to obey the command of serpent rather than God.

What kind of decision we’d to make for our lives? We see that many families have been broken from the unity; and decide to go their own way. Look at Esau and see how he made his parents’ hearts broken. He didn’t listen to his parents and got a wife for himself from the Hittite. Matthew Henry wrote in his Commentary of the Whole Bible, “It grieved them that he married without asking, or at least without taking, their advice and consent: see whose steps those children tread in who either contemn or contradict their parents in disposing of themselves.” We see the same mistake that Esau made in our generation.

Of course, marriage is considered as honorable act in all (Hebrews 12:4), but we changed the law of marriage that constricts from the words of God. We hear that some states of our country have been voted the gay marriage as constitutional. Or we hear that some public schools decide to wipe off the grade system.

This is not only the battle of liberty, but it’s also spiritual battle. Our country is like two sides of coin. We have Christian side and Pagan side in one nation. Even though ACLU is trying to help our country back to Christian nation, they also help to put the homosexual laws back to America. Jesus says in Luke 16:13, “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other…”

There is a bottom line in battle, so is with making a decision for ourselves. Even though there are many churches across the America, it doesn’t mean that every church leaders and members have decided to follow Jesus Christ all the way. We all have made wrong choices that don’t please God in our lifetimes. But this doesn’t mean we’d stay there either. We’d need to stand backup and be transformed by the renewing of our minds (see Romans 12:2).

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Spiritual Disability
Topic: Power of Disabilities
And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? (John 9:39-40 KJV)

Many people may tell you that being a disabled person means that some parts of her or his body cannot function right. Or some people may ask disabled man that if he is normal. What is “normal” anyway? If the person doesn’t have some kind of disabilities, is it means that he’s normal? In fact, every person in the world will become disabled. One of agencies said that by 2010, there would be about thousands people will turn to 60s and become disabled.

Since we understand that we cannot prevent from becoming disability, we must understand that we all have spiritual blindness or spiritual disability. This mean that we hardly escape from darkness and see the truth of light that comes from God. But we can escape from it before we’d die. Roman
3:23 tells us that we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Although we are made in the image of God, we were sinners—blinded from seeing the truth of God.

Read John 9:39-40. Jesus tried to set this former disabled man free from the darkness of his soul; and He may try to convict the Pharisees’ souls, too. John 3:3 says that we have to born again to see or to access the kingdom of God. We have to born in spirit to break the prison chains in the darkness of our souls. We cannot stop to being spiritual disabled without to receive your birth right from the Holy Spirit.

Although we cannot change who we are in physically, we can change our hearts into spirit-filling of our souls, spirits, and minds. In II Timothy 1:7 says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” We have the power to overcome any obstacle that blocks our way to access to our Heavenly Father’s lap. We have God who loves us unconditionally, so we love our people no matter how they look, racial background, or how religiously they are. We have the command from our Father to reach the lost souls to Him with the love of God. Also, we have the sound mind, so we can judge ourselves what is right from wrong. Before God judges us, we have the chance to look ourselves over what we’ve done wrong.

Would you like to set free from being spiritual disabled? Although you cannot set free from physical situation, you can set free from your spiritual blindness and see the light of truth. Invite Jesus Christ to your life. It’s just simple. If you are Roman Catholicism or other religion system, or maybe you addict to something, such as pornography, cigar, or anything that draw yourself away from God, you can set free from these chains by accepting Jesus Christ. You can say good-bye to Satan forever. And begin to walk to your Heavenly Father, who began to search for you to come into His lap to love and care for you.

Psalm 27:10 says, “When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.”

Test of Lust
Topic: Living Life

One day at about this time Potiphar’s wife began making eyes at Joseph, and suggested that he come and sleep with her. Joseph refused. “Look,” he told her, “my master trusts me with everything in the entire household; he himself has no more authority here than I have! He has held back nothing from me except you yourself because you are his wife. How can I do such a wicked thing as this? It would be a great sin against God.” (Genesis 39:7-9 KJV)

We all have lust something for ourselves. It could be desired to buy a new vehicle for your family, multimillion dollar of home, going to Hawaii for your summer vacation, or whatever your heart is desired, you’d want to fulfill your goal. Most of us may have learned that the word “lust” seem to be related to bad thing. It only seems to be bad thing if we would look the thing in wrong way. God wants let us to have lust to something in our lives. He didn’t make us as robots, but as mankind that could have the freedom of choices.

In Genesis 37, we see that Satan is trying to use Potipher’s wife to tempt Joseph with sexual lust. Even though God created sexual relationship between one man and one woman, it can be ugly if we’d try to us in a way of this world. The world tells you that you can have safe sex with anyone at anytime, but God says that it must be within marriage with one man and one woman. Although sex may seem to be testing us in surprising way, we must remember that we need to control our lusts by examine what the Scripture tells us.

King David failed to control his lust (II Samuel 11). Instead of going with his armies to fight against the Ammonites, David stayed at his palace and fooling around with Bathsheba, Uriah’s wife. It’s hard to control our lusts when we’d move away from the main focus. For David, he lost his focus to settle his people’s land when his flesh took over his spirit.

I believe that the most of American churches may struggle with controlling lusts. We see that many ministries may have made themselves multibillionaire rather than spreading God’s messages to the lost souls. Here at MGJC Web Ministry, this ministry’s goal is not about making this web famous and making multibillionaire, but sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His free gift of salvation with people like you through their home computers. This ministry doesn’t sell anything for money. Instead, it contains FREE inspirational messages and resources that people can use to educate themselves and others to know Jesus Christ and build relationship with Him personally.

Don’t Blame God for Anything
Topic: Power of Disabilities

Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them. (John
9:16 KJV)

Have you ever complain to God for anything? Have you feel like if nobody cares about your disability or illness? Of course, we all have experienced in our life with depression. We may have decided to give up our life and mad at God or someone with our situations. If you are in physical condition, you may hear many negative things that come into your mind and decide to follow what your mind said.

Let’s look why the Pharisees decided to mad at Jesus’ work on the Sabbath Day (Saturday). They were making difficult to the situation. Remember, Pharisees were trying to obey all the laws in the first five books of the Old Testament. If we read following verses after John 9:16, we see that Pharisees were making more complicated situations to both Jesus and the man, who was blinded.

Why is that? Pharisees were trying to accuse Jesus for disobeying God’s law on Sabbath. As we read through all four gospels, they were trying to succeed to accuse Jesus by justifying God’s laws. We, too, sometimes believe that God needs our help by adding our ideas to His. This is what many today’s churches set in their minds on and it’s pretty sad.

Jesus doesn’t need our help, except what He gave us to do. He didn’t need Pharisees’ help to heal the blind man. Don’t blame God about why the cripple man heals on Saturday. Exodus 16:29 says that God gave us a Sabbath. He wants us to rest upon Him on the end of our work for the week. It means that we can energize our strengths for the following week by resting upon God’s care. If He wants to heal somebody on Saturday, there is no reason why we question to Him. We need to learn close our mouths when God decides to do something in our individual life.

If God doesn’t heal you physically, it means that He wants to begin to heal your inner being first and wants to use your physical situation in a greater way. Don’t deny yourself for not receiving physical healing. Or don’t just go to Evangelical Christian Healing Services for that, but believe and trust God in faith that He has a greater plan in your life.
