Tears of Rain for America
Topic: New Year

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. (James 5:16-18 KJV)

What is your expectation for 2014? As we’d look forward to the New Year, I’d like to share some insights about why this nation needs tears of rain for 2014. Even though there are many preachers may preach on the end time prophecy, we’d need to understand fundamentally about why God judges His people first. It is sad to see that we do not hear on the message of gospel any more. Instead, most sermons that we from the pulpit hear is all about us.

No wonder why our nation is going deep into the Day of Sodom and Gomorrah. We hardly to find churches that teach from the King James Version of the Bible anymore. Nowadays, most churches use the modern day of the Bible versions, such as NKJV, NIV, MSG, NCV, NLT, and many other versions. These Bible versions may not come from the original Hebrew and Greek manuscript and may contain errors; mostly they don’t put emphasis heavily on sin, hell, Satan, and judgment of God. Yes, God is a loving and caring Father, but He is an ultimate Judge and He doesn’t tolerate our sinful acts go unpunished.

We cannot lead the nation without the right teaching of God. We are called to be priests. I’m not just talking about we need to take church leadership positions, but as representatives of God, we have responsible to share the love and messages of Jesus Christ to other people. Apostle Peter said in I Peter 2:9, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light…”

Our nation needs spiritual rain and we cannot have the rain until we’d reunite with Him. We don’t know where God would take us in 2014, but that doesn’t mean we can relax and do nothing. We have work to do that God assigned to us (see Matthew 28:18-20). We can share the love and messages of God while we are in home, work, and other places we go.

As we walk into 2014, let’s pray and fasting for this nation would reunite with God. Even though our political leaders may not know what they are doing for America, we are responsible to lead them into the right direction. We need to be like weeping prophets as Jeremiah. We need to cry out for God’s direction, not ours.

God planned to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to us to pay our sins, so we can have free access to God and develop personal relationship with Him. Would you like to have personal relationship with God? If you’d like to know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, I’d like to encourage you to do two simple things. First, confess your sins and invite Jesus Christ to your life. Paul said in Romans 10:9-11, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” There is no sinner prayer formula. Instead, you just talk to God at where you are now. Secondly, I’d like to encourage you to find a good solid biblical teaching church and Christian friends. They can help you to build strong relationship with God.
